https://t.co/nz1982H0Yx Molecular triage of potential endometrial cancer could speed up diagnosis; save the NHS time and money; spare 1 in 3 outpatient hysteroscopy patients acute pain and distress. What's not to like? @NHSEngland@AliWrightObGyn@rebeccamallick@GillianMerron
If you're due hysteroscopy @BlackpoolHosp please know that this can be done under a general anaesthetic if you prefer not to be awake.
This victim of DV was unaware of this option. https://t.co/4ubmTMhXwf
Melbourne, Australia is providing Green Whistle aka Penthrox at all its IUD health hubs.
Please, if you've chosen to have NHS outpatient hysteroscopy, do ask if Penthrox is available & suitable given your medical history.
We've reports it's much more effective than Entonox.
Sandwell & West Bhm Trust don't seem to have a clue about their hysteroscopy service. If you're due hysteroscopy at S&WBhm please know you have the options of inhaled analgesia or general anaesthetic. Please discuss pain control upfront.
@rebeccamallick@EllieMRogers@RCObsGyn Could this explain some of the traumatised women who contact the Campaign Against Painful #Hysteroscopy?
10 years ago NHS audits showed that 1 in 4 OPH caused severe pain.
Today @RCObsGyn reports 1 in 3 severe pain.
Is that because PAs don't give local anaesthesia?
It has taken me more than 24 hrs to finish reading this article and I’ve spent that time with varying degrees of distress, anger and despair. I am however grateful to the authors for their research. I post the link with a trigger warning.

Congratulations @ChelwestFT
If anyone reading this is due hysteroscopy to rule out womb cancer, please ask about the WID-Easy vaginal swab womb cancer biomarker test. It's now available at Chelsea & Westminster NHS Trust.
@isitsleepytime@TamaraLockwoo11@Lilas_T_@valhumphreys51@RCObsGyn Dr Pick - please let's work together.
Gynae patients & gynae doctors share 2 common goals.
To end patients' acute pain, humiliation & distress caused by NHS policy.
To end the moral distress suffered by @RCObsGyn medics obliged to inflict acute pain.

@Iambeth2@valhumphreys51@Trust_Failed@HysteroscopyA@AdeleWatersRx There are somethings that can be done immediately
Like stopping the @NHSGIRFT ridiculous targets for the outpatient hysteroscopy without adequate anaesthesia
Removing the cartoon that understates the pain and over states the risk of anaesthetics from YouTube
'Action 7' from the renewed Women's Health Strategy: "Women with lived experience will co-develop a standard of care for the delivery of gynaecological procedures such as hysteroscopy, ensuring women have informed consent and choice of pain relief." Timeframe 0 - 3 years.
@SusanMorgan19@valhumphreys51@RCObsGyn Surly anyone wanting to specialise in Gynaecology should have some sort of psychological profiling. Not doing any certainly explains a lot. Now Prof Dame Lesley Regan is the Women’s Health Ambassador has she supported the Mesh Women ? Is she helping #Hysteroscopy victims ?
I am VERY proud of @SunderlandAFC Regis, it’s been an unforgettable season.
Thank you for putting this together @AndyKerrtv what a great surprise for my final PL studio 🤗
What a surprise @Jeremy_Miles
Natalie Dyke thought that the PA who botched her Lumbar Puncture was a Doctor . He didn’t introduce himself as a PA.
@AneurinBevanUHB you can ignore @TheBMA guidance but you cannot ignore the @RCPhysicians guidance on this .
I’ve put together a fan-made site where you can search all of the Stadium of Light Wall of Fame bricks.
All 30,000+ are on there now, each with an image.
Mainly for anyone who can’t get to the ground or isn’t sure where theirs is.

@RokerReport
How many patients have to die or come to harm before you stop the Dr replacement protect @wesstreeting ?
Patient almost died after being misdiagnosed TWICE by PAs. He thought he had seen GPs.
