Ethiopia was never colonized.
For much of its history, it was one of the poorest countries on the continent.
Meanwhile, Vietnam was colonized by the French, devastated by decades of war, and is now on its way to serious economic prosperity.
If colonialism were the answer to why Africa is poor, Ethiopia should be rich and Vietnam should be broke. Neither is true.
Can we please retire this excuse?

Once a curler, always a curler 💙❤️
This man ruined what was left of the country's power stack.
He implemented systems that made people pay 10X former tariffs, for no value.
If he was getting a report sheet, he's getting G10 not F9.
This same man is getting a hero's welcome.

🚨🎙️ Jose Mourinho on Chelsea’s Discouraging Performances
“People are talking about the table, about sixth place, about this difficult moment. Chelsea have quality players — they have spent money, they have young talents, they have international players. This is not a bad group. But what I see is a team that is missing something very important: good managerialism. They play with fear, without clear direction, without that strong hand on the touchline that tells them exactly what to do when things get tough.
In my teams, we never had this problem. Never. I gave them structure, I gave them belief, I made them fighters. When we lost, we lost together, but we knew why and we fixed it the next day. Here, I watch them lose at home to Manchester United or Manchester City and it looks too easy for the opponent. Too easy. The players look confused, like they don’t know the plan, like they are waiting for instructions that never come with enough authority.
The shirt of Chelsea demands winners. It demands a manager who imposes his personality, his character, his winning mentality on the team every single day. Without that strong managerialism, even the best players become tourists on the pitch — nice passes, nice talent, but no soul when it matters. They must wake up soon. The players can do better, but they need the right guidance. If not, the big clubs will continue to eat them alive. Simple as that.”
🚨💙Thomas Tuchel on the problems at Chelsea:
🗣"I am a Chelsea fan and I love the club, but the Chelsea I knew doesn’t exist anymore. The root problem lies deeper in the management than in the coaching department.
The people at the top want to be involved in coaching decisions, and they are too fixated on signing kids with potential. You can’t win like that—you can only hope for the future, which leads to inconsistent results.
If they want to win and bring Chelsea back to where it was before, they must start recruiting quality, experienced players and mix them with young talents. It’s about balance, not quantity.
They also need a more experienced coach who can command respect in the dressing room. Young coaches are good, but managing young players requires an experienced manager alongside experienced players in the squad.
I hope they realise their mistakes and start fixing them as soon as the next summer transfer window."

🚨Paul Pogba BLASTS Liam Rosenior’s managerial struggles at Chelsea:
🗣️ Pogba: “I remember when he sat there as a pundit at Sky Sports and said I make players around me worse… funny how football works, no? Now he has a whole team and they look lost. He’s made the entire Chelsea squad worse than before he arrived, and the players don’t even understand what he’s trying to do.”
“Honestly, it’s strange how Sky Sports allow people with zero ball knowledge come into their studio and say nonsense. Chelsea need a competent and a real football manager if they want to compete for titles—because right now, he looks more like a P.E teacher than a Football manager.” #CFC
