"But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him."
Echoes of the past, shadows to the future.

SATAN
“Which way I fly is Hell; myself am Hell.”
Once the brightest among the angels, Satan has fallen from Heaven, but Hell is not only the place into which he was cast. He carries it within himself wherever he goes, and now his eyes have turned toward Eden.

[Pope Leo XIV @Pontifex]

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
