This is cinema used as confrontation , where @diljitdosanjh acts with a quiet fury with no chest thumping heroism.. His only weapons are a ledger and a conscience. @rampalarjun adds layers of moral rot in the institutional complicity that feels chillingly realistic

Director @honeytrehan instead of sensationalising the horror unfolds the film like a slow burn investigative thriller through bureaucratic files, cremation records, and hushed conversations
This restraint makes the brutality of the subject matter hit that much harder because it explodes with the force of truth and not exploitation.

The philosophical core of the film about how a democracy devours its own citizens and then tries to erase the evidence is explored without any preachiness and that’s no normal
achievement .
The various issues surrounding its exhibition and publication prove that any art which makes the powerful uncomfortable has done its job, and that is the true purpose of true art , which SATLUJ is .

It is highly courageous essential filmmaking because it unsettles, educates, and lingers . In the times where main stream chases spectacle and popcorn cinema , SUTLEJ shoots out a hard reminder of what cinematic medium can truly achieve when it takes on truth and honesty

SATLUJ is a film that has to be seen , shown, discussed, debated and not ENCOUNTERED like the victims in the film
My appeal to all the powers is , please don’t do to SATLUJ what has been done to JASWANT SINGH KALRA 🙏🙏🙏

I write this with extreme sadness for my country. When young Indian PM Indira Gandhi landed in the US on 27.3.1966, she had just one mission- secure US wheat for starving Indians. She met Prez Lyndon Johnson, the next day. Johnson promised to give India all the wheat it needed- But on one condition- India shd unconditionally support The US in the Vietnam War. The IRON LADY of India flatly refused. The US punished India by delaying,& reducing wheat shipments to India. Remember, this was the time India was critically on US wheat. India lived from (US) ship to mouth. Yet, Indira was unmoved.
On 26 July 1956, Gamal Abdel Nasser nationalized the Egyptian Suez Canal after the U.S. and Britain withdrew funding for the Aswan High Dam. In November 1956, at the UN, Indian PM Nehru thundered against the Anglo-French-Israeli military intervention in Egypt. Even adversaries listened to Nehru at the UN in complete silence. Such was his stature. India was punished for this by Europe. He didn't bother. India stood for what was right.

A grateful Egypt, closed the Suez Canal in Dec 1961, to deny the (then) powerful Portuguese Navy, despatched by dictator António de Oliveira Salazar passage to reach Goa, when India integrated the Indian territory of Goa from Portuguese control. Those were the times. Dirt poor, no military or Industries to speak of, yet India stood up for what was correct.

Today, India is a strong economy & military. Attends G7. Yet, we act as a client state of the US. Following US threats, India will be represented at the Khamenei funeral by, hold ur breath- The Governor of Bihar. PM Modi shd hv been there to grieve with our Iranian friends, for an elderly Shia Muslim Cleric revered by the entire Muslim World.

Even President Zia attended Indira Gandhi's funeral, & both sitting Pak PM Nawaz Sheriff & Benazir Bhutto attended the funeral of Rajiv Gandhi, when he was not even PM. Such diplomatic niceties are common even btw enemies. But, the Supreme Leader of Shia Muslims of the world is given a burial, & the Indian PM will not be there.

एक जज ने कानून का काम किया — और उसे मौत की धमकी मिली…. अगस्त 2022 की रात…. मध्य प्रदेश के सेओनी मालवा में ट्रक ड्राइवर नजीर अहमद पशु लेकर महाराष्ट्र जा रहे थे…. रास्ते में भीड़ ने रोका लाठियों और डंडों से पीटा… नजीर अहमद मर गए। 4 साल बाद — न्याय हुआ 12 जून 2026 नर्मदापुरम की Additional District Judge तबस्सुम खान ने फैसला सुनाया….

14 दोषियों को उम्रकैद सबूत थे… कानून था… फैसला हुआ।
बस यही किया उन्होंने — अपना काम। और फिर मौत की धमकियाँ आईं, पुतला जलाया गया Social media पर अभियान चला….. एक वीडियो में खुलेआम कहा गया — "10 दिन में रिहा नहीं हुए तो देशभर में खून बहेगा।"

Sudarshan News ने अदालत के फैसले को "judicial lynching" कहा….

जिस भीड़ ने नजीर को मारा — उसे "गौरक्षक" कहा गया…. जिस जज ने सजा दी — उसे निशाना बनाया गया।

क्यों निशाना बना…???

क्योंकि जज का नाम तबस्सुम खान है…. बस इसलिए यानी — फैसले में कोई गलती नहीं थी…. गलती सिर्फ यह थी कि जज मुसलमान है…. अदालतें जागीं MP High Court ने suo motu संज्ञान लिया…. तुरंत police protection का आदेश दिया…. DGP और Home Secretary से जवाब माँगा।

Supreme Court के वकीलों के संगठन SCAORA ने कहा —

"फैसले को ऊपरी अदालत में चुनौती दो — judge को धमकी देकर नहीं।" यह सिर्फ एक जज की कहानी नहीं भारत में लिंचिंग होती है… अदालत सजा देती है।

सजा पाने वाले नहीं — सजा देने वाले को धमकी मिलती है…जब भीड़ को लगता है कि कानून कुछ नहीं करेगा — तो भीड़ बेकाबू होती जाती है…. और जब judge डरकर फैसले बदलने लगें —तो न्याय बचेगा नहीं।

तबस्सुम खान ने वही किया जो करना था… बिना डरे यही न्यायपालिका की रीढ़ है। अगर यह रीढ़ टूट गई —तो अगला निशाना आप हो सकते हैं।

क्योंकि एक जज की रक्षा आपके न्याय की रक्षा है।

Three senior IAS officers have been arrested. Several more IAS officers are reportedly under the scanner.

This the beauty of India. A inspector of police SHO a classB officer is senior to a commissioned officer. A DC with 5-6 years service is senior to a Colonel with 20 years service.
