Philosophy is an attempt to use language to talk about the world.

But because philosophy must be done in language, the first step in philosophy must be a philosophy of language. And that philosophy of language must itself be written in language.

Here lies the first problem: the tool we use to investigate reality is made of the very limits it seeks to overcome.

Language is not truth but function. It is a tool, not a mirror.

A symbol cannot equal that which it symbolizes, else it would not be a symbol.

Language is necessarily at least one dimension less than the reality it represents. It is a derivative, and no derivative can contain the whole of that from which it is derived.

From this follows a paradox. To state what language is, we must use language. If what we say is true, it collapses. If it is false, it collapses. This is a consistent paradox: the stable self-refutation that marks the horizon of language.

Paradox, then, is not error. It is the closest language comes to truth.

From this horizon, epistemology begins.

Just because we cannot say the truth does not mean we do not know it. We know far more than language can ever say.

The error of past skepticism was to assume that what cannot be stated cannot be known. This is to put language above life.

Knowledge precedes language. Language is made from knowing, not the other way around.

All knowledge is tacit. To know is to live, and to live is already to know.

There is no knowledge apart from life.

All philosophical problems in history collapse into thesis and antithesis, whose synthesis reality alone can be. That synthesis is necessarily ineffable, yet it is also tacit knowledge we all carry simply by existing.

By recognizing that unsolved philosophical problems are products of the limits of language, we have not solved them but dissolved them. What remains is not the problem, but reality itself — and our knowledge of it, given that we exist.
