Where do you think schools will need to focus once they reopen? They'll be on the frontline of dealing with children's emotions and making space for that will be crucial. This sounds like a good idea to us... ⬇️

Our petition calling on the government to review the impact of their education reforms on child wellbeing is just 55 signatures short of 1000 - once it hits 1k, we'll send it to the Education Secretary. Share our concerns? Give it a sign/share! #ukedchat

SATs
💔Stress levels rising; teachers & children wrung out.
💔Arts, playtime, sports, music all cut back. Reduced curriculum and teaching to the test.
💔Teacher recruitment crisis; schools with disadvantaged children find it even harder to recruit.
👍SATs & league tables must go.
High stakes tests like #sats just have to go. Compassion needs to return to each and every school for each and every child. @educationgovuk should be ashamed to preside over this sort of situation.
Teachers/parents - how have you found this year's SATS? Have they positively or negatively impacted your children's wellbeing or education? We'd love to know! #SATS#sats2019#ukedchat
@HingstonRachel @NAHTnews@amanda_spielman@educationgovuk It was reported by various news outlets in the week but we were quoting from the BBC article here: https://t.co/TFVT1xT9a3
#Ofsted boss @amanda_spielman says primary schools should run key stage tests without pupils knowing; official @educationgovuk guidance says pupils SHOULD know the dates of tests. Easy way to scapegoat teachers for the decline in pupil wellbeing?

@DamianHinds@AngelaRayner@LaylaMoran -
@amanda_spielman says good primary schools shouldn't tell pupils they're sitting key stage tests; official Standards & Testings Agency guidance on running the tests tells schools they SHOULD tell them. Where's the clarity? #ukedchat

@WilliamsonLynne@PaulGarvey4@amanda_spielman@educationgovuk This is from the KS1 Test Administration Guidance - instructions on delivering the tests say pupils should understand "the school's test timetable." Which seems like a pretty clear instruction that they should know when the tests will be...
This is disgraceful child abuse.
34% of 11 yr olds have been sent letters saying they have not reached an “expected standard”. Politicians
- Made up this standard.
- Ignored academics.
- Failed to fund schools or prepare teachers.
- Then blamed children.
They should resign
Misleading from @NickGibbUK in @GuardianEdu today on schools reducing SATS stress: "Sometimes pupils don't even realise they are taking tests." Official 2018 Gov doc 'Key Stage 2: Test Administration Guidance': PUPILS HAVE TO KNOW when tests being administered. #SATSResults2018
@nadhimzahawi Have a word with your colleague @NickGibbUK about how children with existing stress/anxiety are highly attuned to the extra stress of high-stakes testing regardless of how good their schools are at protecting them from it. Cheers mate! #SATs
