@Remcooo82@WonderlandNews@SixFlags Yeah, they're lying or their "designer" lied to them and they're blind. The fact that the frame isn't symmetrical is the biggest giveaway ever. Mirroring the left and right of the frame is the easiest, most obvious thing an actual designer would do while creating this.
Every response to this announcement should prominently feature mockery of/hate for @WonderlandNews for replacing artists w/ AI slop. Paying an artist for this graphic would have been a drop in the financial bucket for @SixFlags. The backlash needs to hurt more than those pennies.
We interrupt your programming… #TheDareDeviler is taking flight this summer! 🎢
The coaster formally known as Flight Deck has been renamed The DareDeviler with a fresh look and a smoother ride. 🤩

@coasterkyle@WonderlandNews@SixFlags Note the non-symmetrical art deco frame & plane, the pilot wearing 2 pairs of goggles, etc. I know the coaster itself is a poorly (almost certainly AI) edited image, but basically everything around it is AI generated and the finished composition was almost certainly done with AI.
@GreekFreak42@WonderlandNews@SixFlags The entire themed amusement industry is built on artists & creatives being paid a living wage to create place-based art for consumer consumption. You're advocating for the destruction of that. If artistry is no longer a profitable career in this industry, the industry is no more.
@GreekFreak42@WonderlandNews@SixFlags You clearly know nothing about copyright law. There are multiple, current, ongoing cases re: the content theft utilized to train these AI models, for the record.
Regardless though, the legality is a red herring. I'm arguing it's unethical, not that it's illegal.
@GreekFreak42@WonderlandNews@SixFlags We're getting closer! Whose photographs? "Publicly available" where? "Publicly available" for what use? "Publicly available" with what licensing?
Spoiler: They were stolen.
@10arc10 You can hold that opinion of our content. I don't care. I'm VERY comfortable with the ethics of my work.
So, setting your red herring aside, tell me why it's okay for the largest amusement park chain in the world to replace actual artists and creatives with AI image generators.
@GreekFreak42@WonderlandNews@SixFlags "disagreeing with the corporation and attempting to pressure them to change their behavior is quite pathetic"
AI image generators are almost entirely trained on stolen work. Using these algorithms to replace actual artists for production work is theft by proxy.
@10arc10 You think a fansite sharing and highlighting the work product of the artisans in our industry is equivalent to a massive, multi-national corporation using AI to steal the jobs of said artists? Fascinatingly moronic position.
@GreekFreak42@WonderlandNews@SixFlags People with taste? People who value the artistry of amusement and theme parks? People who believe theft, even by proxy, is wrong? Lots of people.
Shame there are folks like you who apparently DON'T comprehend the issue.
Don't know who in the industry needs to hear this, but I hope that the entertainment team members at @SixFlagsDC find good homes in the industry. What they're consistently able to pull off with LITERALLY PENNIES is REALLY impressive. They've always punched WAY above their weight.
This is ESPECIALLY true during Halloween when they've consistently offered *FAR* better FrightFest houses and scarezones than you could find at the nearby @SFGrAdventure or @BuschGardensVA.
@NickStarr@SixFlagsDC@SixFlags It's not the worst @SixFlags park and it's DEFINITELY not the worst-run Six Flags park. The park and the market both deserve far better. The rot at Six Flags isn't going to be fixed by killing neglected parks, the rot comes from above.
@Amusement_Buzz@SixFlagsDC It never got the attention, investment, or appreciation it deserved from locals, thoosies, and, most importantly, its owners. In different hands, it would be a massive success, but alas... 🙁
