A hill I will die on - cats sleeping with their paws over their faces is the cutest thing in the world. Here's Alice Cooper for y'all, just in case anyone needed this kind of content today. ;) #CatsOfTwitter#CatsOfTheQuarantine
@vcadellalt3@SoilManDan No need. If he was interested in or respected my analyses/opinion of his "work", he wouldn't have blocked me after I asked questions about his Kensington Stone stuff which he didn't like and never clearly addressed. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
@vcadellalt3@SoilManDan I'll try to do a little write-up when I have a bit more time to do so. It takes a more work to do it in short-form on this platform. ๐
@SoilManDan@vcadellalt3 I've read through it twice & I'll say I'm struggling with the lack of background, specificity and geological veritability of his typical "lookieloo it's this thing because I say so" methodology. Also, personal pet-peeve, where are the scales on many of the photos, ffs. ๐คฃ
@Gnosisinformant@adancingferret@JonesDanny Who cares if it's a demonstrable lie if one bothers to put 10-20 minutes of basic, high-level research in when it gets the necessary clicks, likes and monetization? ๐คทโโ๏ธ ๐
@MollyBender40@adancingferret@JonesDanny@DeDunkingPast Lol! If he didn't constantly spew all sorts of icky insults and block all the scientists so his followers don't easily see their content/responses, I'd be willing to give him a modicum of credit for "getting the conversation started".
@adancingferret@JonesDanny Also, great (thinking like a scientist) minds think alike for coming up with the EXACT same query settings/keywords. We're such nerds. ๐
Oh, look, a whole article about the European โcollectionโ of NW indigenous skulls and grave goods, including what I think is the actual source of Danโs claim re: 3000 skulls. A completely different expedition.
The article also briefly covers some of the issues with studying such robbed remains today: their specific provenance wasnโt always recorded

@adancingferret@JonesDanny Not to mention that the source @adancingferret found doesn't say 3000 modified crania were observed/found/collected. It says that 3000 Chinook tribe burials were disturbed.
@adancingferret@JonesDanny UNL has a searchable database of Lewis and Clarke's writings. Here's keyword query links for the journals in Location = Washington
1. skull
2. 3000 skulls
3. 3000

@Roderickrodder@pinutos Predictable.๐ Seemed like you could almost learn something when given data & refs for a second, but your goal is to troll. You've met criteria for mute especially since you obviously can't add anything productive to the convo. Don't fret, trolls take up no space in my head. ๐คฃ
I was wondering how many response posts it would take for either a logical fallacy argument or a vague, weird insult to appear. The answer is...three! And it's a twofer. ๐คฃ

@Roderickrodder So, you were wrong. Nice try at a moving the goalpoasts fallacy. I never said "all". What "fraction" do you claim? Anything productive to add like methods/ideas to help study more of what we don't know & why? Or, is the goal to troll the rusty ScIeNtIsTs ArE dUmB & bIaSeD line?
@pinutos Joined April 2026, no original posts. This account's replies are focused on trolling scientists. One has to wonder who's sockpuppet this account is since we've seen this behavior on this platform in the past. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
@pinutos This account has no bio and no original posts. It's a boring, unoriginal reply-guy troll who boosts the usual alt crowd peeps and whines that ScIeNtIsTs ArE dUmB & bIaSeD. ๐

People study how and why organics are likely or unlikely to be preserved in sediments & rocks due to different diagenetic environents (biosphere to lithosphere change). This helps us understand the importance of what we could be missing and why at sites & over geologic time.
@Roderickrodder 1.Understanding how & why organics preserve (or don't or partially preserve) in different lithospheric conditions informs what data would be expected to be found. Taphonomy can help determine the possibility/likelihood & the type of missing data.
