Women and girls are being assaulted in numbers that would have been unthinkable here twenty years ago by these foreign imports. Our identity is being diluted.

I'm a unionist from Northern Ireland. I believe this place is better inside the UK. It doesn't make the Irish nationalist I share a pint with my enemy when both of us can see the same streets changing in the same way.

We can disagree about the border until the bloody cows come home. We should not pretend that mass, poorly controlled migration from incompatible cultures is a side issue. It isnt.

If we keep treating each other as the primary threat while the demographic and cultural facts on the ground shift, we will wake up as a minority. That's not loyalty to Ulster. That’s not Irish patriotism. That's two sets of Europeans missing the point.

I'm literally not asking anyone to forget history. I'm asking us to notice the present. Wake up.

This picture was taken just before I was arrested.

One of the reasons given for my arrest was that I had failed to follow the route of the procession.

Here’s where it gets seriously ironic.

The Police Commissioner had set the procession route from the Bell Hotel to the Civic Offices, commonly known as the Council Offices.

Yet when I was interviewed by police, I was told I wasn’t where the procession was supposed to go because apparently they believed the Civic Offices were somewhere else.

Look closely at the photograph.

I’m holding the Union Flag, and directly beneath it you can clearly see the words:

CIVIC OFFICES

Now think about that for a moment.

I was arrested for allegedly not following a route to a destination that the police themselves apparently didn’t know how to identify.

So how exactly were they leading us to the end point of the procession…

if they didn’t even know what the end point was called?

The Police Commissioner set the route.

The police were enforcing the route.

And yet, somehow, the police didn’t understand that the Civic Offices were the Council Offices.

And then I’m the one arrested for getting the route wrong.

You genuinely couldn’t write this.

The destination was right there in the photograph.

CIVIC OFFICES.

Not hidden.
Not complicated.
Not a secret location.

Two words.

CIVIC OFFICES.

Apparently, that was still too difficult to work out.

So let me get this straight:

I was arrested for allegedly not knowing where I was supposed to be going, by people who apparently didn’t know where they were supposed to be taking me.

Now that is irony.

Absolute fucking comedy.

Except I was the one in handcuffs.
