On Sept. 29, around 8 p.m., Pasco Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a domestic disturbance incident in which a subject fled on foot before law enforcement arrived. Using our drone's forward-looking infrared (FLIR) technology, a PSO Remote Systems Operator (RSO) quickly identified the subject hiding under a bench. The RSO maintained visual contact as the subject ran into a wooded area. With the drone's aerial view, the RSO guided ground patrol to the suspect, resulting in a swift and safe apprehension.

This video demonstrates how innovative technologies like drones provide valuable support to patrol operations. Not only do they expand the range to cover larger areas more quickly, but they also reduce the time spent on these types of service calls. PSO is proud to explore and integrate emerging technologies into our operations, providing enhanced support to first responders and improving public safety.
