Today's reading encourages us to see that we are all working together, incorporated into this common purpose across places and ages.

Happy Oak Apple Day! 🍎👑
As the Advent-Trinity cycle of Sundays draws to a close, here is a prayer from the Accession Day service for the King, our Nation, and the Church, entrusting all to God, who, we have seen, provides for all things and rules over us in power and in love.
As I leave Rome today, I do so with profound gratitude for all the encounters, and all that I have received, over these days of pilgrimage. From the warm welcome from our Catholic brothers and sisters, to praying and worship with Anglicans and Catholics, to seeing churches supporting those in need.
I’m particularly grateful to Pope Leo XIV for his welcome, his words of hope, and the opportunity to pray together. It’s been a privilege to reaffirm the friendship and bonds of affection between our Churches that have grown over recent decades. May God bless our ongoing pilgrimage as we seek the unity that Christ prayed for.
In our divided world, Christians must have a more hopeful story and keep modelling something different - walking and working together to serve the world that God loves. Whatever may divide us, the love of Jesus Christ is greater. Our world needs the Gospel, and we are called to share it together.
I leave Rome today with gratitude and prayers for all the people I have met and for continuing friendship and partnership - and with a renewed sense of the reality that in Christ we are one.
@SimonDStanley@PeteWilcox1564 Sorry @SimonDStanley I can't get behind this specious argument, from a man who dumped ten years of work with Iranian Christians in search of a promotional solution.
The Archbishop of Canterbury and the Bishop of Newcastle both spoke in the Lords today in the last day of debate on the Terminally Ill Adults Bill.
Proper scrutiny was ‘moral necessity’, says bishop as bill falls. https://t.co/EVDUaX96CV
His Majesty The King has approved the nomination of The Very Reverend Simon Robinson as the new Suffragan Bishop of Warrington. I welcome the appointment of Simon, who comes with many gifts to serve the people and parishes of @LivDiocese, and to bear witness to God in every place.

Lunch with a community of Roman Catholic sisters keen to talk about their admiration for Archbishop Mullally.
They care for the sick and were struck by the symbolism of her nurse's belt buckle having been reused to hold together her cope, honouring the vocation to serve and heal.
Some people say that asylum seekers are responsible for rising violence against women and girls.
Fact: Research shows no causal link between asylum seeker populations and increased levels of VAWG.

Rumours are not facts. People seeking asylum undergo security and identity checks by the Home Office, including fingerprinting and checks against national and international databases.
