NASRO Executive Director Mo Canady spent the first part of this week in Washington D.C., meeting with the new director of the @COPSOffice, Hugh T. Clements. Discussions included several issues around SRO Training and our new COPS-funded training, Project Unite.

Is there a difference between a school resource officer and a regular law enforcement officer?

Yes!

In addition to being a sworn law enforcement officer, school resource officers should be carefully selected, specifically trained, and properly equipped.
