At the end of my run, I told myself “no liquor tonight. It’s Monday for Christ’s sake.” 9pm rolled around and wife said some shit that pissed me off. Poured a stiff one. That’s why i drank. Next night i said “ok, no liquor tonight.” Wife didn’t do anything. Kids didn’t. But 9pm rolled around. And goddamn, I needed a drink. That’s when I realized I didn’t need a reason. Just existing. Checked myself into rehab the next day. Been clean for 2+ years now. You can do it man. Dont be one of the guys that has to lose everything before you stop.
