The list of things I don’t know is unending. But this one thing I do: entrust your life into the hands of Christ and he will be faithful to you. Though at times it will seem there’s no direction at all—no meaning, no feeling, no leadership nor light—put one foot in front of the other and walk by faith.
“You are with me, Jesus. You will keep me. My hope is in you. I will trust your words.”
Don’t put a timer on your trust. No “I’m giving you till January.” Just keep going. And Jesus will take you places by those ruptured roads, dry riverbeds and empty hollows you’ll live to say you wouldn’t have wanted to miss for the world.
This wonder, this miracle, this mystery of belief in this Lord we’ve never seen and yet are summoned to know is that, if we’ll trust him the merest whit and walk by faith that his words are true, we’ll realize in retrospect it was him all along we followed in the hollow precisely where he wanted us to go. The holy hollow.
Anywhere with Jesus is a place worth going.
@EmilyMcgowin I’ve just read chapters 1 and two of your Christmas book thank you and excellent research and presentation. I will use some of it for my Christmas sermons. Thank you and God bless.
The greatest nightmare of the approval addict is rejection; of the power addict, humiliation; of the comfort addict, suffering; and of the control addict, uncertainty.
In a decade of marriage ministry, I've seen that divorce is usually the end result of too much selfishness and too little commitment. All other issues (adultery, arguing, etc.) are typically just symptoms of the core issue of selfishness.

Been working for three years through the unabridged City of God by Augustine, and finally reached the finish line this week.
"Behold what will be in the end without end! For what else is our end but to reach the kingdom that has no end?"
