💰| Debt now at £1.1bn
Confirmation of the additional borrowing of £90m was included in a more detailed filing to the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday, following Wednesday's release of their 2025-26 accounts to 30 June, and showed their overall debt was still more than £1bn despite major cost-cutting measures implemented by Sir Jim Ratcliffe since he became minority owner in 2024.

Another £91m loan added to Manchester United. When the Glazers took control in 2005, United had £0 debt.
Since then, they have extracted £450–£460m in dividends while the club has carried the debt used to fund their takeover.
Our money. Our club. Our voice.

🚨 Another £90m borrowed by Manchester United!
Before the Glazers arrived in 2005, Manchester United were effectively debt-free. Their leveraged takeover transformed the club’s financial structure and loaded it with hundreds of millions in debt.
Twenty-one years later, supporters are still having conversations about debt when we’re talking about one of the biggest and most commercially powerful football clubs in the world.
This is why supporters involved in #BoycottUnited believe the pressure has to be consistent.
Not for one day. Not for one week. Not until a hashtag stops trending.
Keep organising. Keep questioning. Keep making your voice heard.

Look, you can argue all you want about Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS helping rein in Manchester United's finances, but you cannot argue that he is not the man for the job or that he has the money to truly return Manchester United to the top.
He paid £1.3 billion for a contract of control over the sporting side and a minority share, meaning he has absolutely no incentive to put even £1 of his own money into helping the club. This is the deal he drew up and agreed to with the Glazers; no one else forced him to join the Glazers, as he wanted to feed his ego for the cheapest price possible, a theme he continued with after getting control.
Now the only way out of this is either the Glazers all agree to sell their majority and force INEOS to "tag" along, or INEOS finds an extra £6 billion under their debt-ridden mattress.
Now, which sounds more likely? One thing is for certain: the current setup is going to reach a tipping point.
