Beautiful works by artist Ray Lonsdale recalling the brave men and boys of the former mining communities in the historic county of Durham. First is located at Hetton Le Hole. The second (with mural) is situated in South Hetton.

Somewhere I would wholeheartedly recommend a visit to when in Hartlepool, County Durham. The Heugh Gun Battery Museum contains a fascinating collection of militaria 😍

Moored in Hartlepool Marina, M.V. Coronia. Renamed H.M.T Watchful when requisitioned by the Admiralty in 1939.
Participated in Operation Dynamo to rescue the stranded troops on Dunkirk beach in 1940.
