I welcome the UK Government’s move to designate the IRGC as a state threat to national security, involved in threats to life and intimidation. This is an important and welcome move by @keir_starmer and reflects the growing threat from the regime in Iran to UK citizens and interests. I hope the UK and other Western governments will go one step further and back the Iranian people’s fight for freedom. There can be no peace as long as this regime survives.

Deeply saddened by the passing of Senator Lindsey Graham.

I’m reposting this because it captures one of the most truthful and consequential moments of his public service.

When so many were still getting Iran wrong, he understood the distinction between the Iranian Nation and the Arab-Islamist Ayatollahs. He recognized that the regime—not the Iranian people—is America’s enemy, and called for standing with Iranians while confronting the Islamists occupying them.

For that, I—and countless Americans, Iranians, and people across the free world—will always be grateful.

May his memory continue to shape American policy towards the truthful and courageous fight for freedom and against tyranny.

Our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and the people of South Carolina. May he rest in peace.
