@ArunKUpadhyaya @nitinmeshram_ There are TWO ranking lists. One is open i.e. ALL candidates. Other is for each category, for doing the admissions in the reservation quota. So this rank was most likely the category rank. Take from this whatever you want. 🙂🙂

Sahil Wakode was a student of the Energy, Science and Engineering branch. The opening and closing ranks for this branch at IIT Bombay are around 1,800–2,600 for the open category.

With an SC certificate, the corresponding rank could be 10,000+. So either you are lying or presenting distorted information. He could not have had an AIR of 614 by any means.

As for his 8.5 CGPA, we all know he was caught cheating in an exam. There is no doubt that he was academically deficient. He got admission through reservation, couldn't cope with the pressure, and after being caught cheating, he died by suicide.

I am confused wasn’t the Cockroach Janata Party calling themselves a champion of fair exams during the NEET paper leak row? Holding the system accountable that compromised integrity of a fair exam & all that jazz?
So in the IIT Bombay case, shouldn’t they back the person/the system which upheld the rules of conducting a fair examination?
