@brjohnvianneyop@iamAtheistGirl Selflessness is a virtue, certainly, but it isn't in itself goodness. Justice, kindness, charity, and sacrifice are also virtues but none goodness either, but all can be part of a route to it.
Which are required can differ vastly depending on a person's circumstances.
@brjohnvianneyop@iamAtheistGirl Selflessness and submission to a god aren't the same as goodness.
Goodness is being good to others.

Finished Life Lessons from Historical Women by @EleanorMorton (of Craig the tour guide fame).
History book by one of my favorite comedians? Yes please!
The book was a nice romp through the lives and accomplishments of several historical women.
Finished The Other Wind by Ursula K. le Guin.
This didn't exist the first many times I read Earthsea, and now coming back to it I must say that this wrapped up the series in ways I couldn't have imagined. Truly masterful, but that's no surprise.
Honestly, I don't know, but they've demonstrated their irrelevance and incompetence at this point. The election was theirs to lose, and they lost it. They have been failing at every critical juncture.
They lost Roe v Wade for fuck's sake.
I think as an organization the Democratic Party needs to do some soul searching as to how they can fuck up this badly.
Twice.
Could it be candidates that didn't win the popular vote in the primaries, or an utter unwillingness to attempt to win people over to their side?
