Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. As I’ve always said, qualifying to next season’s Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen.

So many of the changes to rules in the last 20 years have increased subjectivity whilst pretending they are removing it

If any attacker was beyond the 2nd to last defender, he was offside. Now, is he interfering or not. Does he make a deliberate footballing action

Handball. Did it touch an arm?
Now, is he in a natural position for that footballing action? Was it deliberate? Should we send him off?

Now fouls

They have to fit into one of the 3 neat boxes IFAB created:

Excessive force

Have to take into account
Speed
Intensity
Force
Vector of travel
Position of impact

3 of those things overlap
Force is mass x acceleration
How is a ref determining that?

Speed? Is that speed over the ground? Is that speed of leg swing? Velocity through the air?
What the fuck is intensity???
High intensity is a a sprint or a jump. Anything over 7m per second

Is this the threshold?

A keeper gets 6 seconds with ball in hand before it’s a freekick. 6 unicorn seconds?

So much subjective bullshit that is so unecessary

Just apply the rules and get out of the way
