@Rach4Patriarchy Wow so your argument is pope picks bad people therefore Catholic Church is false??? Great argument! Certainly couldn’t say that about any of the Orthodox patriarchs! 😂

[Mick Patrick @PatrickMick]

@ClassicLearner All narrative and no argument. What’s weak is making up a story about another man and slanting to draw people emotionally to your side. So many fallacies here it’s unbelievable…

[Mick Patrick @PatrickMick]

@nntaleb The classic fallacy of an illicit conversion of an A proposition!

@Rach4Patriarchy Church teaching has not changed. The pope is permitted to opine that as a matter of prudence governments should not use capital punishment in the modern era. He’s not infallible on prudential judgments like that. How do you rationalize Patriarch Bartholomew doing the same?

[Mick Patrick @PatrickMick]

@BretWeinstein You’re right to use the word “apparent” with regard to surprise. But you make an equivocation in using that surprise to describe us. Real surprise is different in that it is a demonstration of true limitation in knowledge. That’s not the way theologians understand God’s surprise.

@jakerattlesnk Serious answer - Catholicism is the largest religion in the world. This doesn’t happen because the teaching on homosexuality has changed. The teaching has stayed the same. But since it is the largest religion in the world, you are bound to have more troublemakers than anyone too.

@noor_siddiqui_ “the right to know and choose for themselves”

Nobody ever had the ability to know and choose for themselves embryos until 5 minutes ago… how did that suddenly become a right??

Aren’t you the one hijacking a natural process and imposing your morality?
