The claim is accurate (not propaganda). It's Kitum Cave in Mount Elgon National Park, Kenya—linked to Marburg virus (a filovirus like Ebola). Marburg has had outbreaks with up to 88% case fatality. Egyptian fruit bats in the cave are natural reservoirs; two visitors caught it there in the 1980s after exposure (likely to guano).
The cave is open to the public/tourists (with guides) and remains so as of 2025-2026. Real risk exists but is low if you don't lick the walls.
Classic TIL fact, not made up.
MESSAGE TO HIS HOLINESS POPE LEO XIV ON HIS APOSTOLIC VISIT TO AFRICA
Your Holiness,
On behalf of the Wiper Patriotic Front, and on my own behalf, I extend to you a most cordial and reverent welcome to the African continent on your maiden apostolic journey as the 267th Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church.
Africa, a continent of ancient faith, extraordinary resilience, and boundless hope, receives you with profound joy and deep spiritual solidarity. In the great tradition of the Church, we are reminded that "Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est" Where charity and love are found, there is God. Your presence among us, Holy Father, is a living testament to that sacred truth.
Though your present pastoral itinerary does not bring you to Kenyan soil, we acknowledge that Kenya holds a place of enduring warmth for the Holy See, and we trust in the providence of God that the day shall come when we are once again privileged to receive you as our most honoured guest.
We draw deep inspiration from Your Holiness's steadfast championship of peace, the transcendent dignity of every human person, and the family as the first and most vital school of virtue and civic life.
I humbly beseech Your Holiness to intercede in prayer on our behalf, that Kenya may be blessed with lasting peace, social harmony, and leaders who govern not for themselves, but for the common good of all our people.
We walk with you in prayer and in solidarity. @Pontifex
🚨 We have formally submitted a letter to the European Commissioner for Sport regarding the fine imposed after the Red Star Belgrade incident, raising serious concerns about UEFA’s stance on Orthodox Christian expression.
Selective enforcement of rules exposes clear double standards.
Neutrality cannot be claimed when faith is treated unequally.

Saint Joseph is venerated by the Church as the Patron of the Universal Church. With humility, faith, and courage, he silently protected the Holy Family and continues to protect the Church.
Let us especially ask for the intercession of Saint Joseph to guard the whole Church, Pope Leo XIV, and myself, and to protect all those who remain faithful to the faith.
We also pray in a particular way for peace in the world, especially for the situation in the Middle East. #StJoseph #oldyosef
Hail Saint Joseph
Hail, Saint Joseph, full of grace,
the Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among men,
and blessed is Jesus,
the fruit of the womb of your spouse Mary.
Saint Joseph, foster father of Jesus,
pray to God for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Amen.
@susydney@RichRaho@gareth_gore It doesn't matter. I have done a literature review. We judge the intended purpose of the literature. If it's aims at discredit an institution because of some minor misdeed; it fails to pass the moral code that good must always be aimed at.
