- Raridon’s grandfather, Scott Raridon Sr., played offensive line for Nebraska, was a sixth-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1984 NFL Draft and was also a strength coach on Notre Dame's 1988 National Championship team. His father, Scott Raridon Jr., also played college football at Notre Dame as a long snapper and offensive lineman.
- First player drafted out of Notre Dame by the Patriots since CB Mike Richardson in the sixth round of the 2007 NFL Draft.
- Second player in team history drafted 55th overall, first since T Darryl Haley (1982).
- First defensive player drafted in New England's first four picks since 2023. In 2025 the Patriots used their first four picks on the offense and in 2024 the Patriots used their first five picks on the offense.
- With the selection of Lomu, New England has drafted an offensive lineman in the first round in back-to-back years for the second time in team history. In 1991 the Patriots selected T Pat Harlow out of USC and in 1992 they selected G Eugen Chung out of Virginia Tech.
- The Patriots have used the 28th overall pick three times in team history, with the last time coming in 1999 when they selected LB Andy Katzenmoyer out of Ohio State.
