Good Morning and Happy Pride in America Month - Day Nine
Today we’re celebrating the risk-takers and dreamers who power the American economy — our entrepreneurs and small business owners.
These are the men and women who bet on themselves, pour their heart and soul into an idea, create jobs, and build something lasting for their families and communities. From the corner store and family-owned shops to the innovators and side-hustlers turning passion into a livelihood, they represent the very best of the American Dream — opportunity, hard work, and the freedom to chart your own course.
It’s this spirit that has built neighborhoods, strengthened local economies, and given countless families the chance to thrive. Entrepreneurs don’t just create businesses; they create hope, purpose, and a brighter future for the next generation.
In the comments below, share a story about an entrepreneur or small business owner who inspires you —
maybe a local shop you love supporting, a family business that’s been around for generations, your own experiences chasing a dream, or even a photo of a favorite hometown business.
Tag someone who’s out there hustling and building something great!
Let’s keep celebrating the people who make this country the land of opportunity.

This Day in United States History 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
On June 8, 2011, major U.S. newspaper headlines included: WARNING OF ‘PIG ZERO’: ONE DRUGMAKER’S PUSH TO SELL MORE ANTIBIOTICS - with the New York Times sub-headline stating: "Overuse of antibiotics in livestock has given rise to drug-resistant germs. Drugmakers say they want to be part of the solution. But a recent campaign urged farmers to administer the drugs to healthy animals daily."
More context:
Facing a surge in drug-resistant infections, the World Health Organization issued a plea to farmers two years ago: “Stop using antibiotics in healthy animals.” - from the New York Times. It continued: “But at last year’s big swine industry trade show, the World Pork Expo in Des Moines, one of the largest manufacturers of drugs for livestock was pushing the opposite message.”
The animal-health drug company, which was pushing antibiotics on healthy animals, was Elanco, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company, until it was spun off in March 2019. After the backlash from the NYT article, they pulled all information off public facing websites. (The internet is forever. And you cannot hate drug companies enough. They will always put profits over health.)
In the world of music, New Jersey based hard rock band, Madison Rising had released their single, "Thousand Miles." Unfortunately, the band has since broke up, but their music was always very patriotic. And Thousand Miles does not disappoint. It is the story of our soldiers missing their spouses.
Enjoy a small portion of last Friday afternoon's ride with me. The weather was dry, the temperatures were above average, and this song always give me the FEELS. Volume UP!!! 🎶🇺🇸😎🥹

Thousand Miles ~ Madison Rising 🎶🎶🎶
I miss your smile; oh it shines so bright
Welcomes me home like a million candlelights
I miss the way your breath feels on my face
Far too long I’ve been away
A thousand nights, a thousand days
All the words I wish I’d say
When I see your face again
I’m far behind but on my way
A thousand miles ain’t that far away
If I get to see your face
And be back together again
I miss the taste of your sweet lips
No other’s kiss can make me feel this
I need your touch, need to hold your hand
My footprint’s kept in the desert sand
That’s how I know that I’m truly whole
Far too long I’ve been away
A thousand nights, a thousand days
All the words I wish I’d say
When I see your face again
I’m far behind but on my way
A thousand miles ain’t that far away
If I get to see your face
And be back together again
I’m drowning in your oceans
No place I’d rather be
Praying to the heavens, no one will rescue me
Far too long I’ve been away
A thousand nights, a thousand days
All the words I wish I’d say
When I see your face again
I’m far behind but on my way
A thousand miles ain’t that far away
If I get to see your face
And be back together again 🎶🎶🎶
This hit home for me.. 💯

The family is where the best of America is lived out every single day.
It’s where we learn love, responsibility, faith, patriotism, and the values that keep this country strong.
Husbands and wives committed to building a life together, raising the next generation with traditions, discipline, and an understanding of what it means to be free and blessed.
From fishing trips with Dad and Grandpa, to little league games, Sunday dinners, and teaching our kids the principles that really matter — the American family has always been the foundation everything else is built on.
In the comments below share a cherished family tradition, a photo of your loved ones, or what being part of an American family means to you and yours.
