The Sports Centre is used by the community in the five neighbouring boroughs, Croydon, Bromley, Lambeth, Southwark & Lewisham.

Congratulations to @StJohnsSE19
Your work with refugees, the joy of Messy Church for children, the concerts & the Thursday group offering free meals all make a real impact.
Today’s Christmas Market is another great example of your community spirit.
Thank You!
Attended Windrush Square to pay tribute to the brave men & women from the African, Caribbean & Asian communities who served alongside their allies, with courage & dignity. We remember their sacrifice, we honour their legacy, we say Thank You.
#LestWeForget
Today I laid a wreath at the Cenotaph in Crystal Palace alongside fellow Councillors, local Police, community leaders and our young people. We came together to remember those who gave their lives for our freedoms. We honour them.

It's 15 years today that Olaseni Lewis was 'taken' from us. https://t.co/Ic1dLupOiC
His Mother Aji, family members & supporters fought for change so that his legacy will live on through Seni'sLaw.

We'll never forget him Aji

Brilliant to see @AngelaDavis_ who said "I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I am changing the things I cannot accept" & @stormzy who continues to call for racial equality & justice, receive their honorary degrees from Cambridge University👏🏽
Congratulations to the 8 recipients of honorary degrees from the University of Cambridge today 👏
The distinguished individuals from the worlds of arts, music, science, sport and politics, are:
"It’s an incredible privilege to be awarded an OBE, and I’m truly honoured to be recognised in this way. Lewisham has been my home for over 40 years. It’s where I’ve raised my family and built my life.
Thank you Jacqui for your kind words honouring #SirGeoffPalmerOBE Scotland's first black professor, an intellectual giant, described as a "father figure" and a "courageous voice for justice and equality"
You have given us so much. RIEP🌹
Following the Windrush Museum's lecture delivered by the Rt Hon Diane Abbott MP at the House last night, a few of us went to the pub. In our many discussions, was one on the role that Sir Geoff Palmer OBE played in contributing to @windrushdefence's Burning Work research aimed at a Windrush Act. In turn, I recalled his brilliant contribution to the first ever Voices of Windrush Festival. It was odd that we were focused on him as none of us knew he had died until we got home and started sharing the news in our various groups.
Loved listening to his quirky tales about life growing up in St Elizabeth, Jamaica, his journey to the UK, how he came to settle in Scotland and how he discovered a unique process in brewing, whilst researching for a PhD in same. I loved watching him take on those who would battle with him as they set out to create false memories about the role of some abolitionists, on this very forum, including the descendants of some of those abolitionists. He led calls for a reinterpretation of Edinburgh's Melville Monument to Henry Dundas, a scottish businessman who Sir Geoff regarded as a gradual abolitionist. He argued he did not want the statue taken down, but that he wanted racism taken down.
Rest peacefully Prof. We share our sorrow and your rich legacy with your loved ones who we hope will be comforted by the memories of a life well spent.

@HonorarySpock@MPSCrystalP@cpneighbours@CroydonLabour @UpperNorLibHub @CPUNLabour An overseas coach company has been regularly parking illegally & dangerously around the Triangle for some time. Working together with the local police, Council enforcement team & local businesses, it has hopefully now been resolved. We'll continue to monitor.
We met our SNT for 'Cuppa with a Copper' in @dem_cafe_bar At the last ward panel mtg the agreed 3 priorities are: illegal coach parking, dangerous highway offences & drug dealing. Call 999, 101 or email: [email protected]
Sending my thoughts & prayers to the family of the young woman tragically murdered. How effective is the MET's VAWG strategy tackling these threats to women & girls? More early prevention with men & boys needs to be rolled out now https://t.co/ODJOf8NjKX
We are listening to parents & children's voices as their safety is paramount. The lollipop patrols at several schools including Cypress Infants & Juniors in Upper Norwood is under threat of being cut. Say NO - Please sign the petition: https://t.co/jvwgjnt6pn
Mayor Perry wants to cut our lollipop patrols. These dedicated staff keep our children safe every day, and they deserve our support.

Much has been written about Pope Francis' life. He inspired so many around the world to do better, to be better - we must be brave to stand up for what's right despite all obstacles. At the Requiem Mass at Westminster Cathedral I gave thanks for his life 🙏🏽
