Capital One says it shut down roughly 385 Trump-linked bank accounts after its financial-crimes team flagged them for money-laundering concerns.

That should be a massive story all by itself.

Trump responded by suing the bank and claiming political persecution. And Capital One is not the only bank his businesses are suing over closed accounts.

But now Trump controls the federal agencies that regulate those banks, and his Administration is going after the very banking practices at the center of his private company’s lawsuits.

Think about what is happening here:

Trump’s business runs into serious problems with major banks. Trump becomes President. Suddenly, the federal government starts working to change the rules in ways that could benefit Trump’s business.

The presidency is supposed to serve the American people, not function as the enforcement arm of the Trump Organization.

South Korea expects total solidarity from Western allies against threats from North Korea and China, yet refuses to sell critical defensive arms to Ukraine when its civilians are under attack.

It is time to call out South Korea's defense posture: you cannot demand international security guarantees while playing both sides during a genocidal war in Europe.

South Korea’s arms industry has enjoyed a massive global boom, securing billions in defense contracts worldwide. Yet Seoul continuously blocks direct sales of air defense and heavy weaponry to Ukraine, claiming it cannot export to active war zones.

That excuse falls flat when Seoul routinely completes major defense transactions in the Middle East during active regional conflicts. The reality is clear: South Korea is terrified of angering Moscow, even as Russia unleashes unprovoked violence on Ukrainian civilians and buys millions of artillery shells from North Korea.

This cautious self-interest undermines the credibility of the entire Western alliance network. If North Korea or China initiates a crisis in Asia, South Korea will demand immediate, unconditional support from Western democracies.

Allies must remind Seoul that security is reciprocal. Ukraine urgently needs South Korean weapons, and Seoul must choose which side of history it stands on

The Trump Organization had roughly 385 accounts closed by Capital One after the bank’s anti-money-laundering team spent months reviewing them.

Imagine the reaction if this involved any other prominent political family.

If any other president’s businesses had hundreds of bank accounts terminated after an anti-money-laundering review by one of the nation’s largest banks, it would dominate the news cycle.

Instead, it surfaced in a federal court filing on a Friday afternoon and is being largely forgotten by Monday.

And it wasn’t just one bank.

There is a separate lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase involving accounts it also closed during roughly the same period. Trump says the banks engaged in politically motivated debanking. The banks say they acted for legitimate business and compliance reasons. The courts will decide those cases.

What is not in dispute is that while these lawsuits are pending, Trump is using the power of the presidency to push regulators toward policies that would make it harder for banks to take similar actions in the future. When a president’s private business disputes and public authority begin to overlap, every American should pay attention.

We’ve seen this pattern before. In 2019, during his first term, Trump sued Capital One and Deutsche Bank to block them from complying with congressional subpoenas seeking his financial records.

The public deserves to know why hundreds of Trump-linked accounts were closed, why so much of the record remains under seal, and whether a sitting president’s personal financial interests are influencing the exercise of public power.

This is not the standard of accountability we should expect from someone entrusted with the presidency.

I officially introduced Ihor Klymenko as the new Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Ihor proved his effectiveness through his work at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. He coordinated the work of our institutions extremely well. This was most evident last winter, when Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs directed all of its resources toward supporting people and communities. And it was always Ihor who had the most accurate information and delivered the fastest results. Now, this coordinating function must be strengthened to the fullest within Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council. I expect the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, together with all relevant officials and services, to bring greater speed and substance to all our preparations for winter.
