She Pledged Palestinian Freedom From A West Bank Pulpit. She Has Never Made That Pledge For Nigeria's Massacred Christians.

On Sunday morning Dame Sarah Mullally, the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury, stood in a church in Birzeit in the occupied West Bank and told the congregation she would use her role to seek the peace you desire and the freedom you deserve. It was a specific, named, actionable commitment. A promise from the senior Christian voice in Britain to one community in one conflict.

Search for an equivalent promise made to Nigeria's Christians and you will not find it.

In 2024 alone, over 4,000 Christians were killed in Nigeria, the majority by Islamist Fulani militia and Boko Haram affiliates. The Open Doors World Watch List, the most comprehensive annual survey of Christian persecution globally, documents severe persecution across more than 50 countries. Iraq's Christian population has collapsed from 1.5 million before 2003 to fewer than 250,000 today, one of the most complete destructions of an ancient Christian community in recorded history. The Coptic Christians of Egypt face sustained institutional discrimination and periodic massacres. Sub-Saharan Africa is experiencing what some researchers describe as a slow motion genocide of Christian communities, conducted largely by Islamist groups, largely in silence.

Dame Sarah has not made a five day pilgrimage to stand with any of them. She has not stood at a pulpit in Kaduna or Cairo or Kirkuk and pledged to use her role to seek the freedom they deserve. The Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, used his Christmas Day sermon at York Minster to say that Israel had committed genocidal acts. Neither Archbishop has used that language about the groups killing Christians in their thousands across Africa and the Middle East.

That asymmetry is not accidental. It reflects the ideological framework the Church of England has absorbed so completely that it can no longer see it operating. The same progressive institutional culture documented across British policing, the NHS, the BBC and the Ministry of Justice has captured the Church of England too. Its moral grammar has been rewritten. Suffering that fits the framework gets named, visited and pledged to. Suffering that does not fit the framework gets a footnote in an inaugural address that mentions Myanmar and the Democratic Republic of Congo alongside Ukraine and Russia, carefully balancing the optics without committing to anything specific.

This matters because the Archbishop of Canterbury is not merely a religious figure. She is in law and in cultural memory the senior Christian voice in a nation whose institutions, laws, liberties and moral inheritance were built on Christian foundations. When that voice makes its most specific and most actionable commitment, it is not to the 4,000 Nigerian Christians killed last year. It is not to the last 250,000 Christians clinging on in Iraq. It is not to the Coptic families burying their dead in Egypt. It is to the community whose cause resonates most comfortably in the progressive institutional culture the Church now inhabits.

Justin Welby resigned over catastrophic safeguarding failures. Dame Sarah was installed while live safeguarding complaints against her remained unresolved. Abuse survivors called it a galling betrayal. The Church pressed ahead. The institution that could not pause a ceremony for its own survivors has found the moral clarity to make a specific political commitment from a West Bank pulpit within weeks of taking office.

The Church of England once stood for something that transcended politics. It spoke for the persecuted, the forgotten and the voiceless regardless of whether their cause was fashionable. It does not do that now. It speaks for those whose suffering fits the approved narrative and stays carefully silent about the rest.

Nigeria's Christians are still waiting. They will keep waiting.

The Scottish Government's Health Secretary has been told that she must explain why she is funded a charity that runs "chestfeeding" sessions for trans women 🤔

There has been a public outcry after it was revealed that a "Queer Milk" organisation was handed taxpayer cash to promote this controversial issue.

LGBT Health and Wellbeing holds weekly sessions in Edinburgh so transgender women, who are biological men, can give human milk to their babies.

It has been handed hundreds of thousands of pounds from the SNP Executive, as well as the NHS and Scottish councils.

My choir was reinstated to sing at the London Marathon at around 6pm the evening before the event - and only after lawyers became involved.

By then, only one other member and I felt comfortable singing at the event.

This is how cancellation tactics work. The aim is not merely to silence an individual, but to make everyone around them fearful of being associated with them. Public scrutiny places relationships under immense pressure and weakens the group.

I’m sad to say some relationships have been damaged beyond repair as a direct result of what happened.

And how did we end up there?

I had publicly stated my lawful belief in biological reality: that there are two sexes and it is not possible to change sex.

The disability charity Scope then received an anonymous complaint about me and dropped us - just days ahead of the event. We were due to be part of their marathon 'cheer squad' - which we'd done for two consecutive years, without issue.

To my knowledge, none of the other singers involved had expressed any public opinion on the subject. But everyone had to be 'punished' - on account of my lawfully held beliefs. My attempts to resolve quietly were unsuccessful.

I have since received two further anonymous complaints relating to voluntary roles I hold. Work I do to benefit the community - that I am not paid for.

How anyone can hear this - or look at what's happened to Women’s Rights Network at Féile an Phobail recently - and not recognise that we have a serious problem is beyond me.

Whatever your views on sex and gender, this should concern you. Our right to speak freely is at stake.

For the avoidance of doubt, I stand by every word I wrote then. For instance: ‘woman isn’t a costume.’ If it surprises you that I say men don’t become women by wearing make up and dresses, you didn’t understand the essay. I’ve been crystal clear all along that I believe people are free to live and present themselves as the opposite sex if that’s what feels comfortable and authentic TO THEM. When I call a man a man, I am speaking verifiable truth. It is essential to be able to accurately name sex when discussing fair sport, facilities and services for women and girls and the right of gay people not to be demonised for their same-sex attraction. In years to come, a lot of useful idiots are going to awake to the fact that they’ve been complicit in enormous harm done to women, girls, gay people who stood against the insanity, and some extremely vulnerable young people. I don’t doubt we’ll hear a lot of, ‘I thought I was just being kind.’ Such individuals, especially those in positions of power, should be asked why they never had anything to say about the loud, public, widespread unkindness directed against those who refused to adopt their fashionable, elitist beliefs, eg, the detransitioners being bullied and vilified by former ‘allies’, the whistleblowers who tried to stop an unregulated experiment on troubled children, the women who lost their careers and livelihoods by standing up for all women’s rights.

Some people appear to believe it a worse crime for a woman to call a man a man than for trans activists to call loudly and publicly for the assault and assassination of all women who refuse to bend the knee. I have never wished violence or any other kind of harm on a trans-identified person, but, like many other people who’ve defended women’s and girls’ rights over the past few years, I have received thousands of threats of death, rape and torture. The wilful blindness of those who bleat ‘both sides’ will rightly be judged harshly in times to come.

TL;DR Trans women aren’t women, and if that hurts your feelings, be grateful you live in a society where you are just as free to espouse gender ideology as I am to speak the truth. As Orwell said: ‘Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.’

We don’t know yet.

But we do know this:

In Germany you can stand in front of a camera and justify murdering gay people according to Islamic law… and nothing happens.

Yet if a German citizen warns that importing millions of people from cultures that still believe homosexuality is a death-penalty crime is a terrible idea, that person gets investigated, deplatformed, or prosecuted for “hate speech.”

This is the double standard destroying Europe.

Radical imams get free rein to preach death for “infidels” and homosexuals.

Critics of mass migration get the full weight of the state.

How much longer are we going to pretend this is sustainable?

How many more Pride parades, Christmas markets, and street festivals have to be attacked before the taboo is broken?

The left will scream “Islamophobia.”

The reality is simpler:

You cannot import a 7th-century legal system that mandates death for gay people and then act shocked when some people take it seriously.

Free speech for those who want to kill us.
