On a beautiful winter day in Fort Worth, Amtrak’s Texas Eagle #22 departs for Chicago. #23 departed a few minutes earlier for SanAntonio and LosAngeles. In the yard is equipment for the Heartland Flyer #821 & 822 which leaves for OKC in 3 hours. TEXRail #245 from DFW due shortly.
No need for alarm - these flames along our railroad tracks are planned. Pot stoves are set up to keep switch points from freezing when temps drop below 32. Please spread the word not to call 9-1-1 for this. We want our dispatchers free for emergency calls. #DFWwx
It’s a snowy winter day in North Texas and Trinity Metro is operating both rail lines to Dallas and DFW Airport. Our passengers appear happy to not have to drive. Bus routes are operating, and operators are cautiously taking care of their customers as well.
Still snowing in North Texas and now it’s TEXRail’s turn for train # 240 to depart Fort Worth’s Central Train Station for DFW Airport Terminal B. Amtrak’s Texas Eagle and Heartland Flyer not operating here today. Most Greyhound service also curtailed.
Happy Anniversary TEXRail!!
On Jan. 10, 2019, service began on Trinity Metro TEXRail, the 27-mile commuter rail line that extends from downtown Fort Worth and into Dallas Fort Worth International Airport’s Terminal B.

The final Crescent of 2021 arrives Meridian, Mississippi on New Year’s Eve. The weekend schedule that followed has had disruptions due to weather and employee Covid reductions. Note the disabled Greyhound bus at the attractive Union Station at the end of the video.
@nbminor I just visited a rail bike operation in Concord, NH earlier this month. Lots of customers, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Operates on a segment of the former Boston & Maine Railroad Northern Line where I worked on freight trains in my very early twenties.
