As was pointed out to me on my LBC show last night, this is grossly misleading and really poor journalism. It implies that 100,000 people are out of work because of ADHD when in reality many of them- possibly most of them - will be working. PIP is awarded regardless of someone’s work status and is based on how much their condition affects their lives. None of which is reflected in this front page story. Really shoddy journalism.
UK income tax personal allowance frozen at £12570 since 2021.
If increased in line with inflation, it would be £16048 for 2026/27.
Someone earning £17,000 will pay extra £696 in income tax, 278 in national insurance.
All because govts appease the rich.

The idea that you can just claim ADHD online and get benefits is totally detached from reality. It ignores the months of medical documentation and gruelling, evidence based assessments people actually endure to prove how their condition impacts daily life. @SarahForRuncorn
@Dr_Bekka_UK@SarahForRuncorn Agreed. it proves what I've thought for quite some time now we don't live in a democracy it's nothing more than an illusion. when virtually all Parties/MP's/MSM are all in unison/singing off the same hymn sheet you know the system is (purposely) rigged/wired the way it is.
The very concept of #UniversalCredit is deeply flawed as it still, through its means-testing, embodies the Victorian workhouse mentality of the "deserving poor". It needs to be scrapped & replaced by a #UniversalBasicIncome that guarantees everybody can afford to buy the basics.
The DWP knows PIP isn't an unemployment benefit
The media knows PIP isn't an unemployment benefit
But they know the general public doesn't know and can use it to turn them against disabled people
@GBNEWS Only those hard of thinking would believe Mr Farage is anything but Mr establishment pro business at the expense of workers/employment rights. he's the man of the top 1% not the people who will find out quickly how wrong they were to support Reform if they become the next Gov.
Not this halfwit again. Depending on the time period, somewhere between 30% and 80% of the 'wealth' owned by the top 10% is unearned - monopolies, rent, cronyism and inheritance. This is #1 reason why 'civilizations' keep collapsing.
If we shift our attention to the appropriate metric - income, which is what most people depend on - then some systems such as post-war social democracy raised the bottom 50%'s real inflation-adjusted income share from about 8% to 23%, and grew productivity by 96% and the median family income by 100%.
The neoliberalism Priestley and his ilk support reversed this trend. Money-grubbing, scheming, unintelligent, regressive people supporting a regressive system, which will yet again end in chaos.
@GBNEWS Mr @KevinCraigUK and Mr @kevinhollinrake making out there were no welfare cuts from last year's welfare bill I either ignorant or purposely being misleading neither show them or the host Mr @Jacob_Rees_Mogg in a good light. as usual a complete lack of left wing representation.
I've posted this so many times I'm going to get banned for spam at this point. If you want to shoot down the lies that welfare hasn't been cut we need to spread this stuff. The government wants the public to think it hasn't been cut so the public agrees to more cuts.
I think the sudden influx of lifetime or extended #PIP awards is a backhander to distract us from targeting under 22 year olds, new claimants and those on LCWRA. Happy for us to take the backhander. Low key amused anyone who knows disability activists would thing that might work.
Capitalism without restraint has taken human life and packaged it so much it's barely alive.
And generations of people know no different.
They've been sold a shit life and told this is marvellous.
I'm telling you.
You're in prison and you don't know it..
@ChuckMaverick1@phsweeney5_paul@novaramedia Top rate of tax in 1979 was 83% before Mrs Thatcher the Lady who began the neo-Liberal privatisation rot cut it to 60%. when 50 Billionaire Families in Britain have more combined wealth than 50% of the population=34 Million it tells you all you need to know unless Fort Knox mind.
@ChuckMaverick1@phsweeney5_paul@novaramedia of course they are having taken all they now run away the post you are replying to is correct. only one so young or selective/ignorant would argue the bleeping obvious.
The UK’s welfare bill is lower than it was 15 years ago as a proportion of national income.
But mainstream media keep pushing the idea that it needs to be slashed so we can spend more on “defence”.
When economist Jonathan Portes was asked on Sky News where the welfare bill could be cut – he called out the broadcaster for asking a "nonsense" question.
The idea that welfare spending is out of control “is just wrong," he said.
