The other day, we used the jigsaw strategy where each child solved a piece of the puzzle as we discussed plot development. Students taking charge of their learning!
Last week in third grade students explored different forms of energy! We had great conversations about each type and students had many wonderings. We are excited to continuing exploring Energy!
Forgot to post student learning when we learned about open and closed circuits! They LOVED the energy bar!! Hands on activities in science have been helping students make connections and apply the content👩🏼🔬
Our consensus activity allowed for student collaboration during our ELA review! Students were able to answer on their own, share with their table and discuss the best choice. Then choose the tables final answer to share out. This allowed me to see and hear more student thinking!
Taught my third graders the mass/volume song I learned while teaching 5th grade! They LOVED it! We are still working on mass but they’ve mastered volume!
Last week in third grade we started talking about States of Matter. Students were able to explore the classroom finding examples of solids, liquids, and gases! I loved hearing their thinking, excited for more this week🥼👩🏼🔬
Over at #Tangelopark we are getting ready to charter a course for the next generation. Can you tell we are excited to sail into the new school year!?❤️⛵️ #ocps
Universal here we come! Thank you so much @UniversalORL for the tickets. Our students are excited to celebrate the end of the year and finishing all our assessments!! #5thgradefieldtrip#TPES
Can you say April Madness🏀?! Thank you @Shingle_Creek for introducing Tangelo Park ES to such a fun engaging way to practice our Science Big Ideas! My students are VERY competitive and hate to lose. They have been making sure they come prepared to compete against one another!
The 5th graders at Tangelo Park ES are prepping for our math bee! Today each class had eliminations, the top four from each class will compete during lunch this Friday. Loved seeing how excited my students were to hopefully represent our class!
Last week my students had so much fun investigating and describing predator prey relationship and understand the possible impacts on the population of an ecosystem
It’s time for my favorite lab of the year! @PauleHannah’s class @ Tangelo Park could relate each step to a digestive organ & it’s function. Lots of laughs and learning - my favorite! 🥰 #IMPACTcdl @CDLocps
Thanks @PauleHannah @ Tangelo Park for your willingness to collaborate to help kids! I was able to do the weather factors sort with a few students yesterday. We examined errors in reasoning & then did the sort again to work on retrieving the information we talked about! @CDLocps
