FXa cleaves the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and blocks cell entry to protect against infection with inferior effects in B.1.1.7 variant https://t.co/GOkafYqLl8
Our team published genome-sampler today, a software utility for sampling #SARS_CoV_2 genomes across time, geography, and viral diversity to assist with phylogenetic and other analysis

First time I’ve posted a preprint as a (co-) first author. We sequenced and analyzed 79 SARS-CoV-2 genomes from across Arizona with collaborators at NAU/ASU/TGEN to understand the number and timing of introductions within the state (Thread 1/n)

This is a highly sensitive test for Mtb drug resistance that is based upon amplicon sequencing. No culturing required and it detects even minor drug resistance in a background of susceptible bacterial cells.
@PaulKeim Fascinating to hear the full story of the history here, how @AppliedBio TaqMan assays were used as well as reflect on advances that have been made in forensics and genomic analysis of bacterial pathogens since then.
A new Southwest news collaboration led by Cronkite News reports the findings of a TGen-NAU study that shows potentially deadly West Nile Virus is here to stay in Arizona https://t.co/8GrsvdwjRl .
Frank von Hippel did an interview with me and it is available as a podcast. I go through the science we used during the 2001 anthrax letter attacks and how we applied similar approaches later to the 2010 Haitian Cholera outbreak investigation. https://t.co/Qs3tIsTvxd.
Time to call a species and species! We think that this is a common sense approach to naming botulinum-toxin producing Clostridial bacteria and should replace the confusing group nomenclature frequently used now. https://t.co/8clMRa0ACN
New pre-print, from my graduate work (yes, it's been that long...)
