90 years ago today, 2 May 1936, Brentford played their final game of their 1st season in the Top Tier.
Bees won 6-0 v Derby, Dave McCulloch scored 4
Brentford were 5th in the table - highest ever league finish
@GJHeidler Roslev was still doing overlaps in the 93rd min of every game we were behind to get the cross in. Unbelievable fitness and disciplined player.
In a back 5 always stuck to the task.
Stepped out to mark CR7 in the home game if I remember correctly.
Earned my full respect.
@JImblee1@TrueGeordieTG He knows ball.
We were excellent against Chelsea away and the score line didn’t reflect the game at all. These high level performances were going to get the rewards sooner rather than later. 🐝
Newcastle 2-3 Brentford (video out on the kick off tomorrow)
As the clip below shows, this should not be a surprise to any #NUFC fan who has been paying attention this season. Brentford are better than us, despite all the money Eddie’s had to spend.
He’s made a complete mess of this season and I don’t wanna hear anymore excuses - Brentford have no right to be smashing us twice this season.
Fans, journalists and pundits have tried to shame the Newcastle fans who seen the decline of Eddie Howe coming all season…
Well shoutout to those fans, the smart fans who can actually read the game and voiced their concerns in the face of abuse on this platform because they care about the club.
We won’t be silenced, we won’t be shamed purely on the basis Eddie won us a cup. The truth is the truth no matter who can see it or handle it.
The reality is we’ve barely had a good performance all season, the attack and the defence is a mess and the midfield cannot keep the ball to save their life. There are no real positives anymore and that’s when you know the manager is finished at the club.
Eddie Howe has been fucking clueless this season and it’s sad because of what he’s done in the past, but if you can’t see the level of decline we are witnessing you haven’t got a fucking clue.
Thanks for the trophy Eddie but it’s time to go in the summer.
@Jake8539@TheEalingRoad The apparent foul by Thiago on Cucurella in the 1st minute told us the way the officiating was going to go today.
Can’t remember a lineman’s waving his flag for a foul all season at the GTEC from the west stand.
Ref never got a grip on the game from the off.
@wpurssey10@thesoopabees Totally agree. We have the attacking players to do some real damage in this league.
Need to take this level of performance into Forest game.
