@coinbureau What's the appeal of CB stock? To buy CB stock, you have to believe in crypto, but if you believe in crypto, why wouldn't you invest directly in the technology aka buy the coins?
@Dennis_Porter_ Income when received. Capital gain/loss when spent. You don't pay additional tax on the basis you've already paid tax on. The capital gain/loss is the difference b/w basis and FMV when spent.
@BlockFi It's 2022, and the @SECGov allows politicians to trade on insider information but does not allow retail investors to earn interest on crypto holdings.
@sassal0x The problem is people do not understand/care about taxes until it's time to file. Once you take the step from buying & holding to defi, gamefi, etc, it very important to have at least a basic understanding of the tax implications of each type of crypto transaction.
@MauroG_Crypto@yieldyak_ To clarify on the nontaxable event:
1) Pool tokens=cap G/L on tokens pooled. LP token basis=combined USD value at time of txn
2) Deposit LP token @yieldyak_ =nontaxable. Fair to assume yield is nontaxable when earned
3) Withdraw LP=cap G/L. Combined USD asset value minus basis
