At Campaign Legal Center, we're disappointed that the Supreme Court allowed Virginia to continue a last-minute purge that includes many eligible citizens. But voters will decide this election, not the courts, and CLC will keep fighting to defend the right to vote.
If you or somebody you know has any questions about voting eligibility due to involvement with the criminal justice system, I strongly recommend using @CampaignLegal’s https://t.co/9DyGxCC807 website to get answers. https://t.co/M4sWjgJyrF
Wonderful news for #voters in #NewMexico, where a recent court order means New Mexicans with prior felony convictions will not be unfairly denied their freedom to vote this November. A great win for our clients in this case! https://t.co/FFi4wAbfCQ
Our clients in #Utah are one step closer to realizing their dream of #fairmaps for voters in that state. I’m so proud of the redistricting team at @campaignlegal for keeping up the fight on this issue for the last six years.
BIG WIN: Utahns win at the Supreme Court! The UT Supreme Court ruled that the ballot language for Amendment D was misleading & the #utleg failed to notify voters ahead of the election.
https://t.co/evjtUi5r7V
Affirming that Utahns have the right to truthful ballot language and proper notice for proposed constitutional amendments, the state Supreme Court also preserved the power granted to voters under the state constitution to pass laws through ballot initiatives, voiding Amendment D.
#Utah politicians are once again attempting to undermine the will of voters to maintain power and control. Their latest move is to push a new constitutional amendment with deceitful ballot language. 🧵 1/3

There’s also the fact that this Court has a tendency to favor partisan and special interests in election law cases, a pattern my @campaignlegal colleagues and I explored in a 2022 white paper: https://t.co/4XosbGAM2Y
I have a new article in @lawfare raising my serious concerns about whether we can trust the Roberts-led #SupremeCourt to deal evenhandedly with cases related to the 2024 presidential election. https://t.co/39Zkz7aynd
A key warning sign, I argue, is #SCOTUS’s Trump v. United States ruling, establishing sweeping new criminal immunity for presidents. With that ruling, I believe the Court forfeited a presumption of good faith when it comes to politically charged cases. https://t.co/39Zkz7aynd
We created @CampaignLegal Conversations to provide space for wide-ranging discussions on protecting and improving our #democracy. Very pleased to welcome @NickTroiano this Thursday at 2pm ET to discuss his book, “The Primary Solution.” https://t.co/CEkGXPMswQ
What role do partisan primaries play in our #democracy, and how might eliminating them impact our elections & our government? Looking forward to discussing these issues and more with @NickTroiano of @UniteAmerica this Thurs. at 2pm ET. Register to watch! https://t.co/CEkGXPMswQ
The Ohio proposal follows commonsense guidelines for a redistricting process that prioritizes equal representation over political gain. A recent @CampaignLegal report studies this issue in detail. LEARN MORE: https://t.co/6UYW9nfknm
Manipulating ballot initiative language to deceive voters is a (sadly) common tactic, and we’re seeing it used in #Ohio, where voters have a chance to remove politicians from the redistricting process this November. This is a fight for #fairmaps! https://t.co/fye83EO7YS
@CampaignLegal strongly supports the #Ohio ballot initiative to establish an independent redistricting commission that would end #gerrymandering by drawing district maps for the benefit of #voters, not politicians. https://t.co/JJlKwwjUur
.@CampaignLegal is honored to partner with voters and groups like @GreaterBhmMin seeking fairness for those who have been impacted by Alabama’s unfair/unjust felony disenfranchisement regime. https://t.co/VFJU47IXyd
Every voter should be able to cast a ballot, regardless of whether they have a past felony conviction. The law we are working with @faithinactional to challenge makes Alabama’s complicated voting rights restoration process even worse.
.@CampaignLegal is representing #Alabama voters in a just-filed lawsuit challenging new restrictions on their freedom to vote that, unbelievably, are set to take effect just before the upcoming election. https://t.co/dtkaCSxld9
VICTORY! Utah Supreme Court reinstates our claim that the legislature violated the Utah Constitution when it repealed the initiative banning partisan gerrymandering. Affirms that the people have the right to alter or reform their government. #fairmaps#Utah
