Time to resume debate of the SAVE America Act

And keep debating it until it passes

When I speak in support of the SAVE America Act, some Republicans tell me to stop, insisting that it’s a lost cause and we have to move on

Others chime in to say “remove Thune or your words mean nothing”

I emphatically reject both of these arguments

Karmelo Anthony murdered Austin Metcalf in cold blood. Stabbed him through the heart.

He admitted it and the Jury found him Guilty

His sentence?

35 years with the possibility of parole.

He confessed.
The jury convicted him.
And he could be out on parole in less than 18 years, still a young man with his whole life ahead of him.

Austin Metcalf doesn't get 18 more years.

He doesn't get ANY.

The prosecutor said it best: mercy to the guilty is cruelty to the innocent.

Let that injustice sink in.
