If England and Scotland are in equal union and Scotland has never been a colony. Why has there never been a Secretary of State for England? There was a Secretary of State for India which was a colony and even a Secretary of State for Colonies (oddly combined with war for a while?) and of course we still have a Secretary of State for Scotland. but never in the History of the United Kingdom has there been a Secretary of State for England.

Fascinating fact the title "Secretary of State" was created by the English.
