@TheSavvyCouple All these responses together hit the issues.
If colleges were somehow obligated to get students job OFFERS in their degree field that paid a wage capable of paying off the loan in a reasonable time it would change everything. Say goodbye to $200k art-history degrees.
@lance_corporate Bought a 2009 Avalon
W/40k mi in 2012. Clean. 20k Cash. Son, 25 laughed: “old man’s car”. Put 120k mi on it. Well built. Went to sell it last yr. Son, now a home owner w/gas guzzler truck asked so I gifted it. Long hwy commute. Gets 28 mpg. Still Runs great. Not laughing now.
@catturd2 All those who whine about no opportunities & being unable to afford to live: there is a reason everyone wants to live in the USA. Consider yourselves blessed to be a citizen.
@WallStreetApes Recently while waiting for my wife I had a breakfast sandwich. 1) the place was empty at peak breakfast time. (that surprised me). 2) no English spoken (no surprise). 3) the meal was completely tasteless. I wondered if it was me but then, refer back to #1.
@attackdogX Clear, concise, and absolutely 100% true. And as others here have already said, they don’t want to hear the truth. They just want free stuff but they are too stupid and/or brainwashed to think through how that doesn’t work.
@JesterJum I Worked two jobs most of my career to raise 2 kids & pay for the American dream. Friends my age did as well so I empathize. Life’s a compromise. Look at your life this way: Is your glass half empty or half full?
Commies win when
“College-indoctrinated” libs vote them in after they’re saddled with huge college loans. They now want free stuff. But college is becoming passe’. Younger gen’s see what happened to older siblings & are turning to high paying trades…and no loans to pay off.
@GuntherEagleman My mother, now deceased, holds the record. She once asked me if she should submit a job application for my (at that time) 60 year old brother who hadn’t worked in 25 years of his own choosing. When I asked him why he said he hadn’t found an employer who knew more than he did.
@CynicalPublius You are correct. I was on a school board of K to 5th grade. Indoctrination starts at K. The parents of these kids were also indoctrinated starting at K. Our education system uses younger generations to change America while those who remember true communism die off.
@JohnMageeWrites@ThrillaRilla369 I believe that. Raising sons to become responsible, respectful adults is my biggest achievement. Staying married for 40 years, demonstrating marital compromise helped them form their own solid marraiges. Experience makes the shortcomings of the younger gens clear.
@JohnMageeWrites@ThrillaRilla369 I traveled the world for business while my two boys were growing up. My wife recounts one time I was in India for a week before my youngest son realized I was away. I missed most of their childhood. Today they are close to 40 & both are responsible husbands and fathers.
