@Steezehuman Not enough info to make that statement. So many factors. But a lot of people retire on a lot less than $800k. And a lot of 60-yo people would love to have $800k saved.
@MelMattison1 Nice sentiment. In reality, $1 million in net worth could be enough, but details of that net worth matter. If you have $1 million in Roth invested for growth and dividends, own a decent home and no debt in small-town America, maybe you could “live free.”
@TheMattViera $1 million is in fact a lot of money, especially if you’re not already retired. Last year, that $1 million could have turned into $1.2 million. Compounding on a $1 mil is a beautiful thing. In 7 years, $1 million turns into $2 million.
@timbhealey@CyrtHogg Time for a suspension, Willson. You can’t spike a guy at second base, and you can’t threaten the other team after the game, either. Knucklehead move to say the quiet part out loud. Also, what an acting job at the plate. Nobody shot you, dude.
@TheAlphaThought @FinancialSchenk The key is to have more pots of money to draw from than just an S&P fund in early retirement years. I’ll have 3 years of expenses in cash before I retire. And no, I don’t have enough amassed to not worry about continued growth. Also a working spouse if all goes as planned.
@aaronmyballsout@Brewers Actually, Quero is a better catcher than Sanchez, so it’s a good move to have the better receiver behind the plate. Also, you know that Bauers and Hamilton are extremely likely going to play in late innings for defense.
@Brewers Right-handed bats against a left-handed starting pitcher. Remember the Brewers are without two big right-handed batters in Chourio and Vaughn. So we’re getting Perkins and Sanchez instead today. It’s not a crazy lineup, it’s a smart one against a lefty.
@joedchi@Peter_Bukowski Congrats on a fine season. The Bears are as likely to finish third in the North next season as any other position. So much comes down to a few plays and health of the teams. Detroit and Green Bay lost so many key players to injuries, while Chicago was healthy. Could flip in 2026.
@fightinsforever@hgomez27@z101digital He’s was the 7th best pitcher in 2025 in all of MLB, ranking ahead of every Dodger hurler in WAR. Not saying he’d be the ace of the Dodgers staff, but 7th on the staff? Come on now…
