Faulty rain gauges of @KarnatakaSNDMC in Sirsi leave farmers on the edge.
@SEOC_Karnataka@DrParameshwara
More than 16 of 32 rain gauge stations in Sirsi taluk have become non-functional because of technical faults. As a result, accurate daily rainfall data is not being recorded.
During the past two years, farmers suffered heavy financial losses because of the malfunctioning stations & inaccurate rainfall data.

Since 6 June 2026, the Goa and Mangaluru Doppler Weather Radar products have not been available to the public. These radars are crucial for monitoring heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and nowcasting along the west coast during the southwest monsoon.
Could @Indiametdept please clarify whether this issue is already known and provide an update on the expected restoration timeline? Timely radar data is extremely valuable for weather monitoring and public awareness.
Kindly look into this matter. @DrJitendraSingh@PMOIndia@Indiametdept
