Our mission has never changed, but it’s never mattered more. Behind every unpaid bill is a patient choosing between their health and their finances — and a hospital carrying that burden too.

The House approval of the “Big Beautiful Bill” may be one of the most defining moments for healthcare affordability in a generation.
This isn’t just a policy shift. It’s a financial, operational, and moral challenge for the people and institutions delivering care in the face of reduced Medicaid eligibility for millions.
When people lose insurance, they don’t stop getting sick. They delay care until it’s urgent. That care arrives later, costs more, and becomes harder to recover. We saw a preview of this during COVID-19. What’s coming could be far worse. I’m not sounding an alarm for drama’s sake. I’m sharing what we’ve heard firsthand from our health system partners. Across the country, leaders are bracing for the financial and human impact of this bill.
Today, 3 out of 4 patient bills go uncollected. We started PayZen because this system isn’t working for patients or providers. Our mission has always been to solve healthcare affordability. Luckily, we’re not alone in this work. Meaningful change will require leadership from policymakers, health systems, and innovators alike. Now is the time to build boldly, move faster, and deliver solutions rooted in access, equity, and sustainability.
With the passing of this bill, the pressure on our healthcare system will only grow. We don’t know the full impact yet, but we do know this: Every patient deserves care they can afford. Every provider deserves the ability to deliver it sustainably.
That’s the future we’re building alongside those who believe healthcare should work better for everyone.
