@PlanningMag An application we ran as planning consultants - unfortunate to have to go all the way to Appeal; Members need to be clear on the strength of reasons for refusal or PINS will award cost if deemed they acted unreasonably. All down to officers at Councils advising Members properly.

@KingofSurbo @BellonaAdvisors We are already seeing the apply - refuse - appeal cycle on the ground in many areas for the very reasons cited - great summary @BellonaAdvisors
@yimbychris Do you think anybody in that picture is in housing need? I think not. There is a housing crisis in this country and we all have part to play to fix it.
@Urban__Designer Exactly - it is a policy not a land use allocation or designation. It’s purpose and extent is totally misunderstood by the public and politicians alike - time for wholesale review!!
@MartinCarter33 Wow - this is scary!! In many cases applications are submitted with expectation they will go to Appeal. We need the independent arbitration of PINS.
Be interesting to see how the Planning Bill pans out following Queens Speech - looks like "zonal" planning still in the frame. National "planning tax" also still on the cards. As to speeding up the system - haven't we been here before?
@CODAPlanning on a bit of a roll with industrial development at the moment. Two consents for circa 50,000 sqft GIA for two clients in Northampton and Brentwood to deliver a range of units. Great input as ever from @CODA_architect#planning#quality#industry
