@threadreaderapp@warriors_mom@EricTrump When you don't and put lots of zeros on documents that establish your net worth, and erase those zeros from documents that are used to charge you taxes or premiums or even parking fees, that just might be what that judge called it. What was that word again? Started with an F...
@threadreaderapp@warriors_mom@EricTrump The low valuation isn't something the judge did to punish your father, it's something your father actively sought pay less taxes. That's all fine and dandy, except you have to tell everyone with interest in the fair true and correct valuation the same story.
@Jim_Jordan In the same way that the thief of an expensive necklace is prosecuted for the theft regardless of whether or not he tried to fence it. Campaign finance covers fundraising AND spending. Just ask your campaign manager.
So I laboriously check all my settings again. The Spotify app had come up in mono. But I do hear the difference between Tidal and Spotify. Tidal is better on all the things that eat up resources like transient response and clarity of background instruments. Slight but its there!
Spotify user for years. Dumped 'em for Tidal last year. Three-month special at Spotify so I re-up and have 'em both. Doing an A/B compare. Same song full-tilt quality set on both. Which sounds better?
And I am blown away, and I think, Those bastards at Spotify are saving bandwidth by dramatically reducing the stereo separation (you can save bandwidth by streaming L+R and L-R and then skimping on the L-R channel width.)
@RepMTG Nancy Pelosi is a congresswoman just as you are. There are differences of course, (her title is currently "speaker" whereas yours is "laughingstock." But if Congress has the kind of authority you claim she does then why weren't you also demanding the guard be brought in?
@RepMTG You realize that Musk was all in favor of endangering his own life as an example of "free speech" before he was against it? The difference to him between robust debate and information that enables and promotes mayhem is a like the difference to you between soup and secret police
@Hellian81 @ChidiNwatu@elonmusk Wholeheartedly endorsing it as a perfect example of "free speech" then 3 days later deciding to eject even people who refer to people who do it is neither criticism nor endangerment. @ElonMusk in charge of @Twitter is like Hannibal Lecter as a restaurant food consultant.
Twitter is big and powerful, but even if it were competently managed it's no match for even the publications whose journalists he just banned. If @ElonMusk has proven one thing, it's his total incompetence to run @Twitter. Next question: is he competent to run anything else?
Who the hell is giving @ElonMusk advice on the complexities of running a real-time unedited mass medium? The story of Felicien Kabunga funding Rwandan radio station RTLM would have short-circuited his jet debacle. Reynolds v. Pegler would have tempered his free speech absolutism.
There's a lot wrong with mass media. Way up there is what Don Henley described in "Dirty Laundry" as "kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down." The pressure to find a new angle on a story you've already taught usually leads to revealing as devil the god you exalted.
