Our job is about service, and most of that service happens without applause, awards, or recognition. For years, Mr. David Fox of the Florida Crime Commission has made it his mission to recognize the law enforcement officers who quietly go above and beyond for the people they serve. Today, it was our turn to recognize him. Thank you, Mr. Fox, for shining a light on the stories that deserve to be told and the men and women behind them. You are now part of the PBSO family!

This past Sunday, we attended and presented at Hatzalah South Florida’s “Protecting Our Families This Summer” event. From bike safety and pool safety to heat-related emergencies and hot car awareness, the event focused on helping families stay informed, prepared, and safe throughout the summer months. We’ll continue to spread the message .☀️🚲🏊
The sun is doing what the sun does in Florida.☀️🥵
If you’re hot, your dog is hotter. Please don’t leave pets or children in a parked car, not while you run into the store for a minute. That minute can turn dangerous fast. Keep your furry friends safe. 🐾
We are deeply saddened to share the passing of retired K9 Rambo. 💙🐾 For nine years, Rambo served as a trusted partner, protector, and ambassador for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. From tracking felony suspects to conducting explosive odor detection sweeps and connecting with our community at countless events, his impact was felt far beyond the job.
Rambo faithfully served PBSO from 2012 to 2022 and passed away on May 17, 2026, surrounded by his handler, Deputy Terry Sneed, family, and loved ones. Rest easy, K9 Rambo. You will never be forgotten.
R.I.P. K9 Rambo 🐾
Thank you to the students and staff at Torah Schoolhouse for stopping by our Boca Station and delivering cookies to our deputies. To be honest, we loved them so much they lasted approximately 7.5 minutes, which might be a station record. 🍪
Say hello to Ripley, the newest member of our PBSO Mounted Unit. 🐴 This 3-year-old Belgian/Quarter Horse mix has officially joined the team and will now begin training before making his way through different streets, events, and community gatherings across Palm Beach County.
Welcome to PBSO, Ripley. We think you’re going to fit in just fine. 💙
PBSO District 3 North County joined Fire Rescue for the foundation pouring of Fire Station 24 in the West Gate community. Captain Thibodeau and his team were there to represent PBSO and celebrate this important milestone. There’s a tradition of placing coins into the foundation of newly constructed fire stations, so to show our support, we added a few PBSO challenge coins too. Good luck Fire Station 24!
Save the date. 📅 Looking for a career in public safety? Come meet the PBSO Recruitment Team at the Public Safety Job Fair hosted by Palm Beach State College. We’ll have recruiters from Communications (Dispatch), Traffic (Crossing Guards), and more ready to answer your questions.

Today, we show our respects and say our final goodbye to Corporal Ray Ruby. We are forever grateful for his many years of service. Corporal Ruby courageously battled through years of health challenges and passed away surrounded by family and friends. Whether in the classroom, on the range, or during a simple hallway conversation, Corporal Ruby had a remarkable ability to educate, inspire, and entertain those around him.
You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten. Rest easy, brother.💙
Today, we honor the memory of Deputy Sheriff Frank Genovese, who made the ultimate sacrifice on June 3, 1982, while serving our community.
Deputy Genovese was killed during a SWAT operation involving an armed barricaded suspect. He was only 26 years old. A U.S. Army veteran, Deputy Genovese served with PBSO for 16 months after previously serving with the Daytona Beach Police Department.
Today, we remember his service, sacrifice, and legacy. We will never forget.
