Historical research on a family or house can be a wonderful gift. Many AGRA Members and Associates regularly undertake research as a present and some give gift vouchers. https://t.co/6bqS1JKwnz

Excellent thread here about the ‘historical method’, every aspect of which can - and should! - be applied equally to our genealogical research.

Fabulous 24 hours at the @AGRAGenealogy Conference catching up with friends old and new. 🙏

[Lifelines Research @Dave_Lifelines]

The overarching lesson of the first three talks at the AGRA Conference is that the records we view online on Ancestry & Findmypast are just a drop in the ocean.
Most of the really interesting stuff is on the shelves of our archives just waiting to be discovered. #AgraConference

📢 Announcing Episode 16 of #SettingTheRecordStraight ... in which I try not to get too worked up about yet another case of Really Bad Digitisation by our friends at Ancestry!

It's #worldbookday and we're highlighting one of our favourites here at #ihgs- Ancestral Trails: The Complete Guide to British Genealogy and Family History. Whilst published a while ago it is still a comprehensive reference guide to genealogical sources & we highly recommend!
