WSA is investing more than $15M in major projects around Rafferty Dam to ensure the region’s long-term water security. WSA is committing nearly $40M this year to more than 60 water infrastructure projects province-wide, contributing to over $300M invested since 2007.

Lake Diefenbaker supports daily life in Saskatchewan, serving municipalities, industrial, agricultural and recreation users, as well as providing habitat, power generation and flood protection. WSA manages the reservoir to meet the diverse needs of all users across the system.
Workers stand in one of five 20-foot-diameter tunnels under what is now Lake Diefenbaker during construction on the Gardiner Dam. The tunnels now transport water from the dam to the nearby Coteau Creek Power Station. #TBT

Lake Diefenbaker is 225 kilometres long with a depth of 67 metres, making it one of the largest reservoirs in Canada, holding a significant amount of water. For example, one metre of water from the lake can provide enough water for 300,000 people for 18 years. #WaterWednesday
