Dr. Stack has received RI-INBRE funding! His group studies how gut microbes digest drugs, affecting their safety and efficacy. The project will characterize drug-modifying enzymes quantitatively as correlations are found by quantifying gene abundance linked to drug metabolism.

Congrats to Dr. Tuba Agartan, prof. of @PC_HSC, on the publication of Universal Health Coverage: Foundations and Horizons! The book explores UHC's roots in 20th-century universalism. It was shaped by the contributions of leading experts & scholars—including student researchers.
Hannah Gavin has received a RI-INBRE grant for her project on phage-host interactions! She’ll mentor undergrads in lab and bioinformatics to study how phage genes determine phage host range and how they contribute to bacteriostatic or bactericidal activity. Congrats, Dr. Gavin!
Dr. Ely attended the American Physiological Summit in Baltimore with @PC_HSC students Caitlin Rohrbacher ’26 and Ashley Vasquez ’27. Caitlin presented on blood pressure regulation after post-exercise heat exposure, and Ashley on learning assistants in lab-based courses. Bravo!
