@ReggieChatman andruw said it right: a second father.
imagine you're sitting at home watching the game and the ump blows a call.
you're FURIOUS. how could the umpire DO that? you want to throw things and somehow convince him to change his mind.
bobby fought for you.
#amquerying small profile change as i celebrate helping a 37th client get rep/pub.

@thesylibrary what the agent wants. if they have no preference, it shouldn't matter, but something specific like query, title, genre, word count makes you easier to find than does query alone.
for your #amquerying needs, my agent database (https://t.co/Kdm0oC1WwM) has more than 2,000 agents and more than 1.6 million cells of information and is only $1/month.
@Kestrel_Bates largely a nonproblem, but:
1) if you're running out of agents, that might be a sub package issue.
2) some uk agents will want a compelling reason a us writer is querying them.
3) a uk agent will often have a us agent sell us rights, so if you want a us deal ...
@jociewrites i helped someone win best pitch at a conference a few years ago. the biggest thing i know is that you should tailor the pitch to the agent. i suggest asking them for a successful pitch and modeling yours after it. some are fine with you reading your query to them. others differ.
can we skip to the part where abs replaces umpires in all sports and a human is needed only for things too complex to code? because "you can only fix so many mistakes per game" is irritating, and entertainment shouldn't be irritating.
