My question in Parliament on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project was answered. The 508-km Bullet Train corridor has achieved 100% land acquisition (1,389.5 ha), all statutory clearances, and shifting of all 1,651 utilities, laying the foundation for rapid execution.
Construction is progressing rapidly: 452 km of piers, 356 km of girders, 209 km of track bed, and 190 km of OHE masts have been completed. Station works are advancing across the corridor, while the 97-km Surat–Vapi section has completed all civil works and laid 86% of its track bed.
Work on the 21-km under-sea tunnel has commenced, with 4.8 km already completed between Ghansoli and Shilphata in Maharashtra. India’s first Bullet Train project is steadily taking shape, promising faster travel, stronger connectivity, economic growth, investment, tourism and employment.
Joined Union Minister Shri H.D. Kumaraswamy for lunch, along with former Chief Minister Shri Basavaraj S. Bommai and Leader of the Opposition Shri R. Ashok.
Seven years ago, on this day, Articles 370 and 35(A) became history, marking a decisive new chapter in the journey of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh.
Since then, the lives of the people of J&K and Ladakh have witnessed wide-ranging transformation. Infrastructure has expanded, opportunities in areas such as education, healthcare, entrepreneurship and sports have grown. Be it the women or the marginalised communities, those who were denied their basic constitutional rights for decades have been empowered thanks to the full application of the Constitution of India.
5th August this year assumes even greater significance as this is the year our nation commemorates the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. His lifelong commitment to national unity continues to inspire generations. What he envisioned decades ago found historic fulfilment on 5th August 2019.
We reaffirm our commitment to the progress of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh and to ensure that every citizen has the opportunity to dream big, achieve and contribute to the making of a Viksit Bharat.
#Article370Abrogation
The Modi govt has launched integrated, intelligence-led, and technology-driven operations, hounding fugitives in foreign lands.
The provision for trial in absentia under the three new laws has empowered the justice system to initiate proceedings against absconding criminals. Stringent application of the PMLA led to the confiscation of assets worth ₹17,874 crore and restitution of ₹18,762 crore.
And new frameworks like the BHARATPOL have ensured a seamless coordination grid across the world, effectively turning every corner of the world into a hunting ground for fugitives.
Under the vision of a robust and secure India, the Modi govt has pulled in the net, nabbing fugitives hiding abroad. Regardless of which country they absconded to, India's new approach to national security has ensured the return of 274 criminals since 2019, compared with a mere four per year during the UPA regime.
Gone are the days when criminals were allowed to sneak through the gaps in the system. New India has addressed every gap in the old system through new laws, institutions, and global partnerships, weaving an unbreachable security net.

While at Mysuru’s Viveka Smaraka, paid tributes to Sri Ramakrishna, The Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. Their thoughts will always give hope and strength to countless people.
At the Viveka Smaraka complex in Mysuru, had the opportunity to pray at the Shiva Temple and visit the place where Swami Vivekananda stayed in Mysuru in 1892.
Feeling very honoured and humbled to have inaugurated Viveka Smaraka in Mysuru. This centre will be at the forefront of youth empowerment and in popularising the ideals of Swami Vivekananda. Also met Srimat Swami Gautamananda ji Maharaj.
I am deeply touched with the special gesture of over 13,000 students performing the vibrant Dhimsa dance during the inauguration of the Bhogapuram Airport. This extraordinary gesture reflects the warmth of the people of Andhra Pradesh and the richness of the state’s heritage, especially that of the tribal communities.
