Now it’s really been a long time since I last posted. I’ve been snowed under with workload, uni work, home life, and making sure my head is in the right space. Got through my uni work, OCP meeting soon so hopefully that’ll be signed off, and G1 course booked. coming together 👍

Been a while since my last update.

3 months of being off mentored. Finally getting a bit of confidence doing stuff on my own and still trying to get my head around the systems.

Booked a week of annual leave for the first time and felt guilty leaving my team and my cases open

Advice. With Shoplifting offences how would you proceed when the theft is a low amount? DM me if you don’t want to post in public. I’ve got a few on my case load and have dealt with each one in a different way. Just looking for a census on the go to way

After a shift I thought was probably my best in getting things done my next shift was probably the most stressful. Coroners file, VAs to book, statements to take, and calls to attend. Highs and lows of policing I suppose. 😮‍💨🫠

Managed an interview with a solicitor and an AA present all by myself. Pretty pleased with how it went and getting more and more confident every day #StillLearning

So for being independent I’ve noticed how hard it can be to progress some of my cases. Either people don’t want to give a statement, live miles away so it’s hard to visit or we’re inundated with calls I don’t have time 😭

2sets left before I’m possibly signed off from my tutor. Still feeling like I know nothing but I’m throwing myself in to every incident we turn up to.

“you Don’t talk enough” I’ve been told but it’s hard when there’s 3 other officers at the scene all talking.

First week of response was eventful. 4 arrests (GBH, affray, DV, and drunk and disorderly). Enjoyed it but those night shifts hit hard by 5am. I’m sure I’ll work out a sleep pattern for them! I hope 😵‍💫

1st arrest today. Got everything out I needed to but adrenaline was pumping so much I couldn’t stop my leg from shaking! Hoping that’s a one off 😂😂

Pass out completed. Given my station and met my tutor. In one week I’ll be on response. Bricking it and excited in equal measure!!

Being a late comer to police I’m pretty sure I won’t be getting the full pension by the time I reach pension age. Any others in this position? And what did you do? Should I try and sort a private pension too?

Aaaaaand exam 2passed! Now to find out where I’ll be based. Oh and the first workbook to start 😳🤯 it never ends
