Indiana’s kettle lakes region always provides the best, local opportunities for exploring!
-Male Least Darter (Microperca microperca)
-Female Least Darter (M. microperca)
-Suspected Logperch subspecies unique to Tippecanoe drainage
-typical habitat for the area
Was able to check off a bucket list #fish for Indiana yesterday, the Least Darter (Microperca microperca)! Also came across some healthy Central Mudminnows and Northern Starhead Topminnows. This spot is a goldmine for biodiversity and I will definitely be back!
Happy Monday everyone! The battles this past week shaped out to be some great ones, and it’s setup a wild Sweet 16 round! The poles are open, so go vote for your favorites! This will be open until Wednesday at 5 pm. Link is below!

@TravelFda@wane15 Because issues, even ones off of school grounds, make their way back into the building/classroom. Something like this will blow up with the students and it needs to be handled before that happens
@DrKatfish @DrFishSG @SolomonRDavid@WildlifeBioGal @donaldorth @JasonBarnucz Micro-pike or miniature snot rockets, Pickerel are pretty dang cool! Individual from northeastern Illinois (left) with some interesting orange fins, and one central Ohio (right) with more “typical” fin coloration
@DrKatfish@SolomonRDavid@JasonBarnucz @donaldorth @WildlifeBioGal @DrFishSG Black Redhorse are a neat one in the “gray-tailed” group, one of the more sensitive species in my experience. Here’s a miniature individual from a lacustuary of Lake Erie
